Default My j series s2000 drag car build

Ive always wanted a s2000 for the only reason to cut it up and build a drag car. i found a shell randomly/locally,so i picked it up. plans are for stock K24 turbo TH400 ford 8.8 27.5x12x15 tires. then dial in chassis and make it faster as time goes on. no class rules just a grudge car/street car

former glory

how i found it,sitting like this for a few years.

home cleaned up

parts of cage i didnt like

wheels

wheels with stock suspension

got to cutting

grinding brakets off so the rearend can be narrowed, this is a nightmare

more cutting test fitting measuring.

not enough clearance for me taking 2" off this side of the explorer 8.8

looking good

front clip acquired was too short gonna need to fab the rest up

found a s366 local for cheap its what im going to run for now.

hoodrat building the accord k24

front end parts acquired aswell as new doors.

more pics will be updated daily, the rear end is in the shop getting narrowed 4 link going in after that.

Is the rear setup going to be a 4 link or ladder bar? and have you thought about running a powerglide over the th400?

Its a 4 link i have the competition engineering magnum kit. a glide is most likely to be tossed in to the car at some point when its making more power and sees less street duty.
i bought a stock chevy th400 for 40 (witch ill build later)but my dad had a pontiac th400 that was "built" 15 years ago and sitting scene,so ill make a multy adapter plate to run both.

I currently have 410 gears and a factory LSD but will likely buy a 327 off craigslist for 50 bux locally so i can roll race it.

ill push the K24 hard in stock form i don't care if it breaks. but rpm will limit what the trans can take is why the k24 staying stock for now. has a2 cams a2 pump crv pistons crv head.

Bolt pattern on the glide and turbo400 are the same just different input shafts and trans mount location will be slightly different, going with the auto trans is the only way to go IMO, good luck on the build
