Crawford went from the top to the bottom of the mountain when he let the clutch out. His Mopar moved just a few inches and lurched to a stop. Mike could only watch Ron disappear and hope he'll get another chance to run in the 7.90's and set a record

2:02 p.m. Crawford launched off the line, and the motor died. It looks and sounds like another tranny is not working as it should. There is also a little bit of oil on the left lane, it's not much, but we're down to clean it up.

The other teams in the Hot Rod class have nicknamed Stephane "Frenchy", he's come a long way from British Columbia to race this weekend.
Frenchy won this going away, but he left a huge trail of smoke all the way from half track to the shutdown area. The car is still smoking heavily after coming to a stop, and we're down for a minute to clear his car and check the condition of the track.

Merman is a no-show, so Eggum has a single. She can set a new national speed mark if she goes 181.28 or faster...

Garrett Turbos, Pontiac, and the rest of the Bothwell Team march into the next round. They will have lane choice against Frenchy IF Frenchy can get his car repaired. 2:29 p.m.


i belive this is the race, where Sav Raced crawford and they both broke. and were creeping to the finish line... Sav beat him to the strip.

Apparently they are selling the car because of the poor turn out in the class, they want to focus on the spfwd car and track support. That car always seemed to have tranny issues even with the automatic but that 7.90 pass @188 was pretty good.

I don't understand that rationale, but it's not my car.
Now if they just can't afford to run the car any more, I can understand that.
It's less expensive to run SFWD. But, then they're putting the same tranny in the SFWD car that was in the Hot Rod car. Go figure.

I know Mike Crawford and saw him a couple weeks ago in town at a cruise in on his mint Grand National that I didnt know he had. Anyways, he didnt mention anything about selling the car then, but its not like Im important enough to even know if the car is for sale. I have known Darryl *** and Mike for several years now. Back in the day they had the green Neon and Lord knows how many engines and trannies they went through on that thing!!!

i never seen a srt-4 that came w/ an automatic, so much for rules. i heard daryl say he was done because he didn't think that sc racing was gonna be around that much longer.

That certainly does not help the sport grow it puts what should be an entry level class farther out of reach.

A guy that works for me bought that green neon and it sat in his garage for a couple years then sold it to Frenchy and I have not seen it since.

Moppr is building a SFWD car? Do you have any links to back this up?

Where has everyone been? They are helping Kevin with the Red SRT-4 out (he won Etown and has been to all races so far this year in SFWD). Not sure if they are building their own car...who knows.


Unfortunately for all the whiners, thier auto trans IS Legal!
