How will this impact setting base timing? I am assuming one cannot use a standard inductive timing light with a COP setup.

modify a regular spark plug wire, strip it back and push it in the coil.

Yes you can. Just clip it around the wires coming out of cylinder 1 coil and read away. I do it all the time.

Weird. We've tried that with no luck. Clip it around both cop wires or just the "positive"?

Always works for me, just clip it around the group of wires going to the #1 coil.

You can order it from your favorite Hondata dealer, but you wont get it until Hondata begins shipping to their dealers..

Dont those run single or dual magnetos? Thats what we ran on the sprint cars at about 1900 a piece and I think the magnets contribute to the spark. Somewhere around 40 amps I think.- free by the way thanks to MSD.

MSD worked great on my Chevys but never really wanted to try it on a Honda.

Looks to be the original release date of June 2011 has now been updated to "Summer 2011" (as per Hondata's website).

It's my fault for being too proactive and selling all my MSD stuff and making a custom wiring harness specifically for this application. All I need is the CPR box to get my car back on the dyno/track!

this is sorta like the new iphone. everybody wants one but wants to see how good it really is. i saw this product like 2 months ago on here when mtber posted in fi section

looks like a proven product but rather wait. hondata will build the hype and start a crazy line like black friday then release it. its good and bad to every honda part no matter if its a cpr, turbo, etc. there no one product that works perfectly

^I agree. I look at this CPR kit as a solution for one of multiple known issues (Igniter, coil, etc). Let the waiting/begging of Hondata begin..

Its a nice part, simple to install and setup in the software. I'd be hard press to find anything else that will come close to the ease of this addition to an s300.

CPR FTW! I looked on the hondata forums, and noticed nothing about a set date anymore.
