Default Hondata 4 port boost control solenoid

has anyone used this item yet, any good results? I am about to buy one, just wanna see if it is worth the upgrade from a 3 port before I squeeze the trigger. http://hondata.com/hondatasolenoid.html

To my experience, its hard to control the boost pressure/duty cycle. I switched back to 3 port.

My tuner absolutely hates them for the same reason, hard to control.

Once you start bleeding the bottom/side, control goes out the window and boost builds super fast.

Never uses the hondata but have used 4 ports in the past with success, works well for something that you need to make low boost out of the hole bit still be able to run more than double thr spring on the big end,
But none of it works as well as Co2, 3lb spring and can run all the way up to 120psi if wanted

The 4 port offers the widest boost range but at the cost of the narrowest resolution. Yes they are difficult to control as 1% duty will equal a large boost increase. I am able to run 5x spring pressure with a 4 port which I needed for the best BBG setup.

so what I understand from you guys experience is that when using this valve its best to take baby steps while tuning the boost control maps due to it's wider range.

That should be the normal practice anyways. Most setups are different anyways and will depend on where and how long the source lines are. When you are talking milliseconds everything comes into play. I have used 4-ports with great success myself. People tend to cry because they are around double the cost of a 3-port though. I can post pics of both numbers if needed - just let me know.

I would like to see the difference in numbers. I fully plan on going back to the 4 port.
What are you guys setting your frequency at? I think I had mine at 45hz.

Sorry for the confusion, but I mean part numbers I just forgot to type that. My setup numbers will do you no good since as I stated before setups can be vastly different.

The frequency doesn't seem to matter much. I find that it works on all frequencies however it changes the effect that you get per duty cycle. I normally set it to 31hz which is the standard.

can you post the part numbers? I was looking today and I did not find any 4 port solenoid that reads from VAC-up, most I found was 75 psi to 140.

I recently found this out. car would boost inconsistent. I have four boost stages and all stages would have different boost. ie set for 22 psi, would get 23.5-24 psi. couple times it gave me 100% dc even though dc was set at 54%. lucky I had set boost cut at 42 psi on the hondata. gonna take it out and try the dual 3 port. and if that does not work for me, will get the ams 1000.

Are you referring to running co2 on a single or dual 3 port?
