Default GT4294R exhaust housing size

Ill try and keep this brief, i havent been able to find out much info on this actual subject, nor have i had the ability to test this.

Ive got a Garrett GT4294R turbo with the 1.01 divided exhaust housing on it. Im running an open manifold. I knife edged the entry to the turbo but its still pretty laggy. Would i see better spool time going to the actual open housing? The smallest one they make is a 1.15A/R. Its not getting to full boost till almost 7000. Id like it to be closer to 6000. I used to have the same turbo on a divided manifold but right now thats not an option. SO basic question, will it actually spool faster with the open 1.15 housing?

Right now for the street its set to 20lbs in 4th gear. It doesnt reach a full 20lbs until 6800-7000. Ive had the same turbo on a divided manifold setup a few years ago and it was actually pretty quick spooling. Like 20lbs at 6000.

on a 1.8L or 2.0L that turbo should be "all in" by 6000 rpm.

I understand...my question is, will going to the open housing help with the spool overy the divided housing?

While I have no experience.....if you knife edged it than it shouldn't. The divided housing A/R is in fact slightly smaller than the equivalent open. Have you done a boost leak test yet

I did some tuning, its actually spooling a bit qucker. I think it right were it should be for being what it is. I think my only real option is to get a divided manifold lol. Thanks for the replies.
