Gringo's quest to 190mph in the 1/2 mile.
Last year i took my car down to Shift-S3ctor's 1/2 mile event. Ended up going 182.33mph in my Integra with 0 areo work other than taping the headlights up.
Anyway after taping up the headlights i gained just shy of 3mph. So i thought holy **** i wonder how this car will do with some Aero work. Well i have been working on it and plan to go to the next Shift-S3ctor in April.
Build on the car:
Sleeved 84mm GSR
10.5:1 Wiseco Hd Pistons
Manley Turbo Tuff Rods.
Supertech Valve springs/Retainers
Ferrea 6000 IN/EX valves
Ferrea Keepers
B16 head
GSC Power-Division Turbo Cams
4.5L Skunk2 Ultra Series
Skunk2 90mm TB
FIC 2150's
E100 fuel
Stock sumped fuel tank
Twin 255's inline
ETS Forward Facing Turbo manifold
ETS 3" Intercooler piping
ETS 4x12x24" intercooler
Precision 6262, T3 .82A/R
Dyno video:
Using Hondata BBG and a 4port to control boost. I have a 6 psi wastegate spring in it but sadly it creeps to 12psi on wastegate right from 7000-9000rpm.
Here is the video of it before:
Car Before:
As you can see with the tire size i run, the car sits quite high off the ground. so my goal was to get it as low to the ground as possible:
I have now done a front splitter/Air dam, Doing a full underbody/Flat bottom, did Hood Exit exhaust for weight savings/Downforce and will be doing a block off for the headlights and i also got some KIWI 5" Sideskirts!
The front splitter is about a 3/4" out, it is more of an air dam than anything. The lip i used, was a sweet $46 EBay lip that fit better than anything ive bought lol.
Got some Wilwood brakes, these ******* should help stop lol.
Start of the underbody/flat bottom.
Rear diffuser will start from here:
Anyway, hoping the extra aero stuff and a little more downforce up front will help me get to the goal of 190mph in the 1/2!
Went to TX2k14 and had some fun!

Good luck with it homie!!! Always like seeing what you are doing with your car and hearing reports of how it responds.

Curious why you have chosen to leave the front end open and go A/A intercooler rather than close up the front and go A/W?
Love the under carriage! How much did that cost in mats if you don't mind me asking and how thick?

I would also look into trying to divert some of the air in front of the tire so that it doesn't create turbulence in the wheel well, just a small lip in front of the wheel

It amazes me on how many stages this car has been through and how well it performs in each event. Keep up the good work!

I'm signed up for a 1,600ft roll race event at Pocono Raceway on April 5th, and have been contemplating doing an undertray like yours for a while.
I'm not sure what a 143mph car will do in 1,600ft from a 60mph roll!
Good luck on your standing 1/2 mile, though. I ******' love your car.

Based off what we see in the GTR's its only like a 5mph difference in that car from a dig vs 40mph roll in a 1/2 mile.
People say i should be in the 160-170mph range, with the really big fast cars in the 190-200mph range lol.
