Default Fuel Tank vent options?

How are you guys venting the stock(oem) fuel tank when removing the charcoal canister and related components?

I purchased a turbo car (EK hatch) recently and it leaves my garage smelling like gas. Tracked down the smell and the hose that vents the fuel tank was left open venting to atmosphere... and the hardline has been removed that once led to the engine bay. Needless to say, the charcoal canister and related parts have also been removed.

I dont think I can just plug it up, so I was curious if you guys are doing anything creative to keep the smell to a minimum.

Thanks!

My factory tank vented to the open line on the firewall. No smell issues.

My cell vents to a bulkhead fitting inside the fuel filler cap "cavity" on the body. I put a ball valve in line with it since I run E85, I can keep the tank sealed to avoid moisture.

Once the tank is out to sump, weld a -8 on it and put a bulkhead breather fitting on it.

Thanks for the replies. I wouldn't usually care about the smell but it's drafting into my house and pissing the wife off.

I'm going to look into putting the factory setup back in place, but the hole in the gas cap sounds like an interesting interim fix

I kept my factory system and made it function, not for emissions, but because as expensive as gas is, I dont want it evaporating and going away, they are pretty simple it's just a matter of making the purge valve work once the engine is warmed up,
