Re: Facebook smack talking
I have a strange sense of humor; I didn't actually report anything.
Or one of the first.
We're generating some traffic either way. Mission accomplished?

I think you're way off honestly, its just my opinion though, so take it with a grain of salt. My opinion, social media and this stretched n poked bullshit killed this section, and that's why you see so many misguided people doing dumb ****, theyre fed garbage, as well as constant drama, so many sorry *** business deals, theft, lies, deceit, and just overall **** morals and no respect for what people are trying to make of the industry. To many are after that quick dollar, no long term, look how many companies are still around, companies that founded the sport compact movement, less than a handful. Skunk2, AEM, and maybe few others, which sadly enough is about the only companies that I know of still around on the main land dedicated to sport compact go fast R&D and manufacturing innovative and new product. So many have come n gone, shops have come and gone, companies likewise, and why? So these little garbage *** companies selling half *** product can go make them some money, then dip out when they get dipped for selling knock off or junk ****, they file bankruptcy, get their wife/baby momma/squeeze, or homeboy to start another company, and boom theyre back at it again makin that money. I know there is no definite answer to why this section died, but I do remember days of a thread on page 1 lasting about 15 minutes, all hell breaking loose, records being set every weekend, new this and new that, and now................................****** crickets in my eyes.

I feel like this subforum is incredibly harsh. I do know that 'bench racing' isn't allowed. But for someone who is building a 'drag race' oriented car, it would be nice to be able to bench race and talk about things that would be an improvement. I can google and search and find answers and threads about certain things, which is what I do. But being able to make a thread like that would generate some movement in this subforum and it would bring at least me into this subforum. For now, I just quietly sit at home and go to the drag strip alone to do test and tune events. Maybe it wouldn't be all bench racing since I could supply some slips, but it would be nice to just shoot the sh*t about possibilities.
The general consensus is to search and do your own research. That leads to a very dead subforum.
Side note, my car isn't a track oriented car and it isn't even that great. I assume someone will dig it out of the archives and talk some crap about it.

I don't post much here. I lurk, read, study, and search old threads. There is a plethora of information. When it comes to FWD drag racing, this subforum is the best, bar none.
Sure the activity has died down twofold in the last few yrs, but those that still post have a wealth of knowledge.
Discuss bench racing, like what? Analyze time slips and ask how to improve your 60', 330', etc? Or bench race discussing some scenario that is being played out in your head, of who would win in a race? One will generate helpful responses, the other will likely have your post removed (rightly so).
Some of the guys might be blunt, short, or straight to the point. Doesn't negate the fact that their information is usually good!

Re: Facebook smack talking
I was talking about improved 60' time and such based on slips. It is bench racing in my opinion because it is a 'theory' of what could happen. It would be a discussion on things that could plausibly improve the ET but may be out of budget, not available, etc.
I have no interest in "which one of my friends can I beat" type of threads. Maybe when I'm done building the car and having fun with that, I'll worry about my driving skills and come to this subforum more often.
By the way, I think I deserve a bit more credit than what was given.

Bench racing "meant" things like

If i build x motor with x pistons will it go x speed

Or this motor is faster than this motor because x part

Things like that

If you have a build and are asking what can make it go faster or what to expect that isnt bench racing
