EK serious quest for 8's
Hey guys,
I finally was able to pick up my car from Humble Performance from Tulsa, OK and do some testing Friday night. I picked it up Thursday night as Alex finished tuning, figuring out a boost leak along with other various issues... Their team got it all sorted and I took the car home after gathering parts for the past 3 years. The car was finally put together, running, and tuned within the last 4 months. After the recent incidents, I didn't want to make a full pass until the car was caged (don't knock me, cage is going in this week). During my last run it all felt good so I stuck it out and did not realize what numbers my car would run. Below are pics from Friday.
We still believe there's a small boost leak coming from my Wilson TB. We're switching to a K-tuned TB and looking to hold the 32+PSI all the way through the powerband and through the traps. I passed the traps at 28psi resulting in the times pictured below. Feel free to ask any questions!
Car - 99 EK
Weight - 2525 w/ me and full tank of fuel. We haven't shaved any weight from the car yet.
-Prayoonto spec k24 block, 4 piston head with Prayoonto stage 3 cams
-Prayoonto Intake/Exhaust manifold
-Tuned by Alex at Humble on kPro
-Weldon 2345 ; FIC 2150's
-E85
-FP 3794 (67MM)
-PPG gear set ; CC twin disk
-Strange shocks w/ 700/700 spring rates
Future plans:
1. Full cage
2. Paint the bay, body, and wrap the 3 piece front
3. Remove sound deadener and cut weight
4. crack 1000 hp
5. run 8's
Overall, it's a pretty simple setup. Car made 965 at 32psi tapering to 28 psi. I think it's a combo of the turbo running out of steam and a small boost leak up top. Total of 3 runs were made, I accidentally hit the fuel pump switch when I shifted to 3rd on my second pass and car shut off. The 60 foot on that picked up so we were in the right direction! Pics below!
Below is the first hit. I was going for the 1/8 to get some data, but I think I let out way before that. Shocks were dialed in at 4 clicks all around as a base. We haven't done any further adjustments yet since the 60's were getting faster and faster.
