That's awesome. Glad to see a cheaper alternative to sleeves pulling some decent times. I know it doesn't replace proper sleeves, but for the lower budget guys like myself, it helps go a little faster.

Maybe they needed to replace the head gasket or something, and decided to tear it down there? That is for sure a lot of work just to prove that point.

High 9's it takes 550-650 with good 60ft and 1/8 mile. Lower power means a car needs even better short track numbers. For example Driveshaft shop all motor civic went 9.9's with well under 500whp. Last year my true street car ran 10.0's on 550whp or less with 1.65-1.75 60ft. So I would have to guess this car has 700-750whp on that CSS block. Would love to see time slips for this car. Good ****!

that would be one explanation.

Other would be if he is making money from the sale of css block guards

Now, if he was doing it simply to prove a point, yes, that is pretty nuts. You have to keep everyone guessing and not worry about what people think.

Everyone these days wants to have something to prove.

It short of goes to show the problem with the honda scene. Everyone cutting corners left and right because a car can survive down a 1/4 mile a few runs , it is enough to make any theory legit.

Stock block this, pump gas that, stock crank this, stock cams that, pump gas here, e85 there you get the point.

Please someone explain to me, so what does it matter if he is not sleeved block or not?

Haters. There are some people out there that get bothered by others running their mouths, some need to shut those people up. Not exactly sure what really made eggy do this. Either way you cut it, he's got a fast car, how long it will last is another story.

yes, I understand what you mean. From my experience, you give haters an answer to shut them up, and they will bitch about something else.

800 on the dyno, he went 9.4@160mph of the trailer then turned it up and went 9.2@163mph

No gasket issues. Just something we wanted to do after WCF2012 where shops where puking crap about him having sleeves and claiming it was a CSS.

How long will it last!!! This is that blocks 4th season.

At least 20 dyno sessions and countless runs!!

WCF2012 9.1@161mph backed up by 3 9.2's
HD2013 9.4@160,9.3@163,9.2@163,9.4@162

Why does it matter? Because they are proving a point that stock sleeves can handle a lot more RELIABLY do to the process.

A few runs? Read above! At least 200hits on that block between 550hp to 850hp.

Make money?? They have a shop and believe in the CSS process. Of course it would benefit there business to show that the process is true security for there 650 and under builds. Not sure why you would look down on them for trying to make money providing cost affective builds. Not everyone has deep pockets.

When did I say anything about a block guard or even CSS???

Thanks for ASSuming what I was thinking

I was really thinking who care if it is stock sleeve or fully built not like the rules force someone one way or another.

Under 800whp CSS block FTW! Also block guard and CSS should not be mentioned in the same sentence. Anyone who has a street car would be ignorant not to run a CSS block if they are making above 550whp and under 800. I bet it could hold 900 or even more.

I assumed money was involved. That's great advertisement to run low 9's and prove it can be done with a half price alternative to sleeves. If the car is built to be worked on pulling the head isn't that time consuming. I can pull mine in 30-45min.

Exactly. Either way it's impressive.

Now Nico's tacos have been overtaken by Pacos, family run with mom and dad cooking and cheaper too. I eat there twice a week

that's pretty badass to just say oh yeah you don't believe me? let me crack the motor to show you!! I have a spare motor done with css I hope I never have to use it but I would love to throw some numbers at it one day lol. on another note. are those brake lines just run through the firewall with no bulkhead fittings?
