Default drag set up ek3

hey guys

i have a honda integra 95 fitted with a b18c at 700hp .its semi gutted and has everything equipped to handle the power. except our track is crappy and been only able to get minim traction at 500HP...RUNs 11.2 AT 138MPH...YES SERIOUS HOOKING UP PROBLEMS...

i now have in my possession a ek3 with a lil fender bender ..from my knowledge it should weigh around 2300 lbs..after gutting and installing a cage hopefully i should be in the 1900lbs range ..

my question now is whats the recommended suspension set up to use with this shell for best traction... how well do the d2s hold on these cars ?

any help would be very thankful.. and any additional tips would be good also..am running 26x10x15 Hoosiers

Honestly man, the actual coil over system used wont show you much in the way of traction gained..... Top of the line Strange struts and king pin spherical bushings are what the 7/8 second cars run but they are also running Motec/infinity or another stand alone system that allows for on the fly timing reduction. This is the real key to traction although all the afore mentioned stuff helps too.

On a budget I'd pick up a digital 7 (gold box) or hondata system.
Next step up in price would be something AEM with rear wheel sensor.

What are goals with the car?

what kind of burnout technique do you do?
you gave us little to no info about the car man.Dont forget that a 138mph is not normal for a 700hp car!

sorry about the late response... car is already fitted with a hondata...

looking traction via traction control really isn't the way to go..you risk high egt and running your engine too hot....as a tuner boost by gear and boost by rpm gives the best possible results.. after 3 trial run of upping the boost in each gear them by rpm wheel spin should be at a minimal....

the 138 mph was only at 500 hp...couldn't get the car to hold the power with out smoking out the tires in 3rd at 625 hp....

have found the problem while switching to the civic shell... the rear springs were only 350lbs while there were suppose to be 1000lbs ....that was a significant problem ..aiming for a total weight of 1900-2000 lbs in the civic...

car is expected to run high 9 on race gas and low 11 on pump ...

will update the thread in a month when i hit the tracks...
