Something I heard from a buddy that races circle track is growing and shrinking tires. You can over inflate the tire to grow it in days prior to the race then lowering the pressure to your race psi. Do that to match the rollout of each pair of tires. It makes sense in theory. I haven't ever tried it though.

Maybe it's just the QC . . . either way the idea that corner balancing means you won't have to run different pressures is false. Corner balancing is going to help reduce the amount of what is essentially torque steer (more weight on a side to help it have more traction than the other side) but it's not going to change rollout.
^that's a good point.

then again, so is this:

I've actually done this before, it does work well.
it's also the same reason why drag slicks should always be stored with zero pressure in them, to prevent them from stretching. I've seen slicks grow almost a full inch in diameter due to sitting for 2 years with 15psi in them.

When I was at WJ's, he had a frankenstein drag car that we did burnouts with behind the shop.

BangShift.com Kurt Johnson breaks in a set of slicks

They believed (which I don't have any evidence to the contrary) that if you inflated a set of brand new slicks to the same rollout/circumference (regardless of pressure) and did a burnout with them, it would "lock" the tires to a given circumference and then you could mess with tire pressure without severely affecting circumference

that does sound like it could work. though I imagine the only way it could work well would be to do it on a super cold day, and get them super hot, then immediately remove them from the car and let them practically freeze as quickly as possible and rest just above freezing for a day or two, then release all the air until track day.
