Deleting ignition switch and key and putting in toggle switches and push start
Well my ignition switch died in my 94 civic dx drag car and I priced one at my work and its 242 dollars before discount and its not something I can afford at the moment. I am trying to figure out is it possible to remove the ignition switch all together to where I can just use a push start for the car. I know this would make it very easy to steal the car but like I said this is my drag car and is under lock and key at all time. If someone could just point me in the right direction that would be great.

Very easy to eliminate the key, just supply switched 12 volt to the fuse box like the key does, and hook up a momentary push button to send 12v to the starter motor
We make a nice panel that fits in your DIN slot (if no radio) but you can DIY for very cheap if you needed to

Thank you for the help! Unfortunately that is where my gauges are installed or I'd probably go that route.

Use a obd2 harness and a arc 8000 and remove all the crap out of your car. Very easy to do.

I had the exact same issue with my Drag Car.
Heres what I did.

Remove key side of ignition, so you only have the plastic piece in the rear where the wires go in. Turn it to on and leave it. This can also be used as a theft deturent if u mount it under the dash and turn it to off when the car is not in use it will disable the whole ign.
Cut into the white power wire and install a toggle switch. This way the switch controls "Key On/ Key Off"
Then install an S2000 push button into your old keyhole. Its a perfect fit. Then wire it up with a simple 4 pin relay.
Like this.
This was the best and cleanest option for me, works great.. S2000 push button is like 40 bucks and the relay I stole from the relay box, for rear defrosters b.c. who needs them on a drag car, and some wire I did it for less than 50 bucks.
I mounted the toggle switch in to the dash where my raido used to be and took the time to solder all my connections then tidy up all my wires and works like OEM.

Thanks for the diagram pictures are always helpful when doing something like this. However I ended up using a universal ignition switch from my work to make things easier and hid it up under the dash.

I mean, I'd rather have a fully sealed set of relays than a bare circuit board with plastic 'isolators'.

I have an arc panel/relay board, got rid of all the wiring except I reused the section of wire that goes to the back of the car for the tails.
solenoid under the dash for the kill switch, this kills the power to the engine as well as the switch panel.
and entire under dash and headlight harness.

jegs, 8 switch arc panel is 260. Solenoid is 114 and bought a few 50ft things of painless wire. All the connectors are the deutsch style kind from jegs or summit.

Re: Deleting ignition switch and key and putting in toggle switches and push start
On my '75 Honda it's basically a street legal race machine. I don't even have a a starter, you just have to kick it over (kick start). You just need to flip a switch to go, no keys. For security I'm going to hack a wireless switch to control run, so people can't mess with it. Well, they can mess with it all they want, but not go anywhere.
Oh, I did rewire it, completely.
