Wow. Glad the driver is ok. Is it me but the way the driver got out looking at the car he seemed pretty pissed.

Pretty much all the major vendors get their flywheels SFI certified.

So the question is, was this flywheel SFI certified, or was is it a modified stock flywheel (generally considered dangerous for this reason!) ?

Scary, especially being rhd. I'll tighten my scatter shield extra good this year.

sorry i cant stop laughing haha

pics show it to be the flywheel which failed, clutch is still intact...

this is why stock cast and aftermarket aluminum flywheels suck lol

i like the radiator end tank just chillin, still connected to the upper hose hahahahaha

I have seen some shady dudes put cars together and I have still yet to see this happen in person. My pops told me he saw a 60's model Corvette at the track once that did this and a chunk of the flywheel or clutch was stuck in the track at the line.

On the other hand I have been to tracks such as VIR and saw cars running hard all day, as well as a million dragstrips never saw this happen. What makes the stock flywheel suck so bad, or an aftermarket aluminum flywheel?

If you look close, it looks like some of the diaphram fingers are broken. Granted that could have been caused by the broken flywheel. There was so much carnage, it is hard to tell what caused it. By the way, it looks like an ACT rigid 4 puck.
