Cosworth Sleeved K20
Just got my motor back from being sleeved over at Cosworth. Not a drag motor, but I thought you would all like to see. I'll post more pictures as I assemble it.

Is that gonna overheat with the deck being that solid and lacking water holes? Not much room for coolant to keep the deck cool. nDoes look good though.

Hahaha. The car is primarily built for road racing. Lag of turbo size and other motor internals to go drag racing with it, but you never know. I might build the other K motor I have here for that. K24 block and a 05 Type-S Head... hehe... Shouldn't have a problem with keeping it cool either. The machined slots and holes line up perfectly with the gasket.
This is going in our turbo EP Civic. Motor has been swapped for the Type-S rather than the stock motor.

The car this motor is going in Cosworth is a sponsor of. So i do not know the actual full price of the sleeving. I paid for some parts of it and some was sponsored. I would give them a call to find out pricing. They can sleeving on anything. Honda, Subaru, Toyota, Ford... You name it they can sleeve it.

If it's not a drag race motor, why is it in the Drag Racing forum? Cylinder #3 looks tapered about 2/10ths by my eyecromoter. Maybe you shoulda used a better camera, then I'd be able to tell for sure.

I really think you need to get your eyecrometer checked. I think it is off just a little. What are you on your fourth motor now in that POS. You know I have the K24 at work if you want to use a good motor in your car.

Yeah but what cools down the head gasket??
i mean, don't you need water touching the gasket to keep it cool? And what about thermal expansion, when the sleeves want to expand. isn't that why honda changed their h22 block to open deck in 97???

looks really nice, just wondering on what head gasket you will be using.... interestign to see how well this block can hold up around the gasket area... please enlighten rtype16, haha i was curious to try out Cosworth... talk to me baby !

Right now just using a stock head gasket. We will be running the car at the track hopefully soon and I can let you all know how it does. I have never had a problem with anything Cosworth has done for us.

There are holes but not very many. It may blow the head gasket and cause the car to overheat. Maybe you should try to pay attention to detail(poorguy).

Closed deck is not a new unproven process, you haven't seen alot of different engines have you. Also the name cosworth should make you think they know at least a little something.
