Default catch pan (engine diaper) for sfwd

i was wondering, do the catch pan for the tranny and motor have to be seperate? or can it be one whole piece? thank you

also, is there any sfi regulation in nhra? i dont see it in the rule book, or can it be just some sort of a fabbed up peice of sheet metal with walls on it

i see a lot of guys running fabbed up catch pans that they made themself..so im sure that there isnt any sfi regulation...and it can also be one piece...doesnt have to be two separate pans

It is a one piece of sheet metal that has to have 1" walls that can collect fluids from the trans/motor. This is not a replacement for the scattershield though (some people think it is), you still need to have that. There are a few people that have one on here:

Miller Not sure of the vehicle they have done it on
JPenman (Jasen Penman) EG
Akuma Y (Hoa) EG
TylerH (Tyler) EK

They have all done them.

I made one also for my EG. It looks similiar to NRG but bigger.
Joe Simpson makes them and sells them at the races.

mine are 2 separate pans and have passed NHRA SFWD twice. we will see about NOPI next weekend. :crosses fingers:

nothing exciting...works great..pass's tech....easy to take on and off...and we sell them cheap. we have saved a bunch of racers by actually having spares with us AT the events

At NOPI you do not need the pan unless your going 9.59 or faster
just to calm your nerves
