Thanks for all the support guys! I ordered a dogbox and a clutch today so I'll be sure to post those pictures up as the parts come in and go together. I started putting the engine back together tonight so there will be some good updates this weekend as long as my cam degree kit comes in on time.

ekcoupeh22 wins the guessing game! The clutch is a Tilton carbon/carbon. Also ordered the Tilton hydraulic throw out bearing kit too. The dog box is a PPG set and I also ordered a billet bellhousing from Liberty. It was an expensive week lol.

Haha thanks man! Well Tony always says if you have the money to do it the cheap way twice, you have the money to do it the right way once. He's been a HUGE help in all of this and this build wouldn't be what it is without his support.

Stuart did a phenomenal job on the wrap for the body and got it knocked out super quick. Just realized I hadnt posted any pictures of that. He did the body first so I could get it home and start putting it all back together. That way he can do the remaining pieces separately and at his own pace.
As you can see, it turned out pretty great and I can't wait to get the rest of the parts wrapped and installed on the car.
Hit a little bump with the engine plans for this weekend. First my cam degree kit didn't show up in time. But the bigger issue being a problem with my head studs. They are the L19 studs but I improperly stored them while the engine was apart. So when I pulled them out of storage, I found these tiny little rust spots on most of them. Having heard the horror stories, I decided to not even chance it and ordered a new set.
While I was pulling down parts I decided to give the carpet a good cleaning. I know some events require the carpet to be in and I don't plan on taking it in/out frequently so it might as well look good. Some shampoo and degreaser with a pressure washer blew some nasty **** out lol. Looks like new now!

Re: Another 2015 SFWD build thread. Yawn.
Finally got the longblock together last night. The cylinder head that was on my last setup suffered some pretty serious damage from when the old cams broke. Few bent valves, valve seats that were cracked, and what ultimately did it in was cracking around the spark plug hole threads. So I decided to shelf that head and source a new one. Luckily Jose Jimenez was selling exactly what I was after. A Mission Critical CNC ported GSR head with full Ferrea valvetrain and even had the 6mm exhaust valves in it that I wanted. To sweeten the deal the combustion chambers and exhaust ports had even been Polydyn coated. Took me all of two seconds to scoop that up from him.
I decided to stay with Web cams but this time use their Pro Billet units with their billet rocker arms. Extremely nice pieces and I was very pleased with how the rockers fit in the head.
I've waited years and years to finally have a setup that warranted using these block offs!
My Liberty Billet bellhousing showed up Thursday, cant wait for the PPG gearset to get here and put it all together!

Make sure to check the clearances around where the diff sits in the case. sometimes the diff bolts rub. Also, if you went with the 4.2 final PPG this won't be an issue, but if the gears use a lower cuff brace you'll have to shape the case accordingly. We all had to do it.
Good luck with the build. It's coming along great!

As crazy as this is going to sound because of how this build is, I'm not getting one because I can't justify the price. I mean sure it'll save 10-15 lbs, but the car is already going to be under min weight so I'll have to add weight bars for some events. The OE cradle has decent a center of gravity location so I'm not convinced I stand to benefit from using one. The money can be better spent on other items in my opinion.

Re: Another 2015 SFWD build thread. Yawn.
Sorry for the huge gap in the build updates guys. We have been crazy busy around the shop the last couple months with getting Tony's car ready for the Buschur shootout and then finishing up customer builds for Street Car Takeover here in Dallas this weekend. Plus we have the Texas Invitational in 5 weeks and then the Texas 1/2 mile event just 4 weeks after! But I have steadily been acquiring parts to keep the ball rolling on my build. Now that I have some time to breathe I can put my Trans together!
Doing it once and doing it right. Liberty Billet Bellhousing, Wavetrac 28 spline lsd, SF SCHA, PPG gearset and all new bearings, seals, hardware etc.
I've had this outer trans casing for several years because I knew the day would come when I need it to properly setup a dogbox. Total piece of junk but I'm glad I held onto it because now its been repurposed for something so much more useful!
