94 Civic DX- Turbo B18c, 405WHP, Caged, 24.5 M/T's... Looking for a 1/4 Mile Goal
UPDATE:::
The car made 530HP 340Ft Lbs after my E85 retune this year!
But my best run all year was a 7.1x ET at 103 MPH.
New goals for the car include E85 retune, 520 HP, and a 6.9x Et in the 1/8th mile and a trip to the 1/4 mile with an ET of nothing worse than a 10.9x Pass..
I am a Novice at best when it comes to Drag Racing but…. Well you have to start somewhere, right. I have little experience actually launching from a tree, I have about 20 passes in various 150-250 HP cars. One being my 2006 RSX Type-S with simple bolt on’s. The car made 212 whp and 160 ft/lbs and I ran a 9.4ET @ 79MHP- 1/8 mile, on bald tires. Anyway I have recently purchased a car that will be a great learning experience for me. It’s a 94 Civic that makes 405 hp at 16 PSI, it has a full 6pt Cage, 24.5 M/T Slicks, also has an LSD tranny. The previous owner claimed the car went consistent 11.9x's @ 119-120mph on 13psi. It has since been tuned to 16 PSI making the aforementioned 405 HP. So I am trying to come up with a realistic, attainable goal for this upcoming year. I will be running a lot at a semi-local 1/8 mile track until I feel it won't be a complete waste of time to drive 4 hrs to a 1/4 mile track.
OK, the car.
Motor/Turbo setup:
-B18c1 block
-81mm CP 9:1 pistons
-Eagle rods
-ACL bearing
-ITR crank
-Stock ITR head
-ITR intake manifold
-Nuekin ramhorn manifold
-T1 Development 3" DP modified by Synapse Motorsport
-GT3076R .63ar
-PTE 880cc injectors
-Hondata S300
-Straight 3" SS exhaust
-Tial 44mm wastegate(10psi spring)
-Tial Q BOV
-2.5" Synapse Motorsport charge piping powdercoated black
-Full Race (PWR) 475hp IC
-Hallman Pro Rx MBC
-Full Race vacuum distribution block
-Hasport Motor Mounts w/ 88A inserts
-Avid billet front torque mounts
Transmission:
-JDM ITR trans
-B16 1st&2nd, GSR 3rd&4th LS 5thw/ ITR 4.78 Final Drive- Blox LSD
-GSR shift linkage
-Competition Clutch Stage 5, 4 puck sprung
-ACT Streetlite flywheel
Interior:
-93' GS-R front Seats
-Alpine CDA 9815 Head unit w/ Alpine Type S speakers front/rear
-AEM UEGO wideband AFR unit
-Autometer 30vac/30boost Boost gauge
-Autometer Oil pressure gauge
-EX cluster w/ tach to 9k RPMs
-Full Race 6 pt Chromoly Roll Cage, professionally welded
-GSR shift **** w/ Skunk 2 single bend shifter
Fuel Setup:
-8an feed and 6an return lines running from a new stock fuel tank to engine bay
-Walbro Inline 190lph
-Walbro Intank 255lph
-Summit inline fuel filter
-BDL Fuel Rail
-Aeromotive A1000 Fuel Pressure Regulator
So, as the title states I am looking for input as to what the car should run on a 1/4 or even 1/8 mile track. Similar setups would be helpful. Also things like Tire PSI, Launch RPM and Shift RPM would all be good info as well.
Before spring I hope to have a Full-Race Traction Bar and Strange Engineering Suspension setup.
OOH Also I have SEARCHED… ALOT..... And I haven’t found enough cars close enough to mine to formulate my own conclusion on what the car should run.. Also I know it is impossible to get a mathematically correct answer considering all the differences in cars, weather, altitude, Ect. ect. Not to mention the variable of ME. I am simply looking for a range of what the car should definitely run.
Anybody who has a problem with my thread either move on to a different thread or PM me.
Thanks guys.

"Also I know it is impossible to get a mathematically correct answer considering all the differences in cars, weather, altitude, Ect. ect. unless u take some weigh out, you will be stuck in the 11's even with a good driver. I know this car, i raced it on our highways around here.

just for reference i make similar power with my integra. 2400lbs, ~410whp ls/v,gsr trans,57trim turbo, on blown suspension and 22" slicks(spinning 1st) i ran 11.13@127. I should be 10s next time out with the new suspension and 24.5s

thats easy turn up the boost to 25 or so and even if you suck at driving you should hit 10.9

I would say the car should do a lot better than 11.9's. I would say low 11's possibly high 10's with the perfect pass. Nice car man!

I assume that was in a DC2?
Wow ... Never fails, retards will always exist on here... I keep thinking Honda-Tech will change..
Nice info.. will try..
Well the 11.9's were at 11 PSI where the car made only 365 HP.
Thanks, I cant really call it my own yet.. but thats why I bought it..

All depends on the car, weather, track conditions, etc. I've on 11.1 @ 125 on a 60-1 that made 400hp, then swtiched to a 6765 and went 11.0 at 126 with 466hp (car was also breaking up). Run it come spring and let us know how you make out!!

But from what i am seeing the car should capable of Low to mid 11's.
With a traction bar, good suspension, and a perfect pass maybe even a 10.9x.. but who knows.
So i guess i can shoot for the high side and say 11.6ET 1/4 mile--- 7.4ET 1/8 mile.. would be a good goal for me but i still dont know how i will do.

really depends on your weight. it takes 430whp in a 2400lb car to run 10.9s 2 130mph if your coupe weights like mine id say 11.30s @ 123. that what my slips were looking like on 11psi. but your gearing confuses me. adding a gsr 3rd and 4th but keeping the 4.7?

I went 10.7 with 430 HP at 2400 lon a single stage of boost.10's are totally possible. What's stopping you from turning it up more out of curiosity.

Thanks for the info..
What slicks were you running?
What pressure where ur slicks at?
Traction bar?
Launch RPM?
I plan on tuning it to around 18-20 PSI / 450hp.. Once I feel I can handle it where its at now.
For the same reason I think running my first passes at 11PSI/ 365hp whould be a good way to start?. What do you think?
What slicks were you running?
What pressure where ur slicks at?
Traction bar?
Suspension setup?
Launch RPM?
Again very nice numbers.. and also again I have to assume you are an exceptional driver. So I will pick you brain for some knowleadge as well: Was this in an EG coupe?

Your ET / MPH computed from your vehicle weight of 2400 pounds and HP of 405 is 10.54 seconds and MPH of 127.11 MPH.
Well that sure set the bar high. LOL
Low side weight guess (2200) puts me at 10.24ET..
High side weight guess (2400) was still 10.54ET..
Both numbers I would add at least a full second to..
JMO.. I would bet that that calculator uses an algorithm for RWD cars.. they will always run faster with the same HP/Weight Ratio..
