8 gallon fuel cell, weight savings?
Just as the topic states, I'm interested in installing a 8 gallon fuel cell in a friends car and was wondering if anyone knows the weight savings over the stock fuel tank? Obviously the stock tank would be heavier when full because of the larger capacity, but is there a weight savings and if so, how much between the tanks themselves when both are completely empty? Thanks in advance.

Thats a good question ...
i installed mine ...a 5 gallon aluminum cell with braided lines the whole bit
the 5 gallon cell is extremely lightweight
the stock tank is close to about 40 lbs
and the stock lines are going to be close or lighter than steel braid

Actually, when i weighed my car with the stock tank AND the fuel cell, it was 2050. Then i removed the stock tank, and it was 2015, and hat was with the cell full of gas (4.5 gallons or so.) Id say its a good 30-35 pounds or so, this is also an EG, an older 88-91 may be less. BTW, this was all done at the Etown scales
