why does it seem like the b18c1's are running almost the exact same times as the b16's?

it seems to me that the bolt on stock b16 hatches are landing in the mid high 14 sec range a lot here. the gsr hatches seem to range from low to mid 14s.

I see a couple b16 posts here claiming high high 13's or low low 14's. You'll always see these claims. freak engine, freak driver, freak track...

The b16's make almost as much hp stock as the gsrs, plus with better gearing it could be close. But i think the gsr postings are consistantly faster

yeah ... REAL freak stuff ... talkin about people like this (first post at the top of page 3)

Quarter Mile Time - 14.01
-MPH Trap Speed - 98.8
-60ft Time - 2.05
-Tires - 178/60/13 all season tires on stock VX wheels
-Car Year, Model, Body Style, Trim Level - 94 VX hatchback
-Engine Code - B16
-N/A or FI - NA!!!!
-Elevation or US State if you don't know - Capitol Raceway MD/ 300' above sealevel
-Modifications - full interior, I/E

Basically a flat 14 sec 1/4 mile with only intake, exhaust and full interior? ... and stock wheels? ... sounds like BS to me, but who knows ... I would think that a hatch with i/e b16 wouldn't get lower than a 14.3 or so ...

but then he could have a b16b, but I doubt it

well there will always be BS postings, but rather than say that, i gave their anomalies the benefit of the doubt and called them freaks.

There have been stock motor n/a b16 hatches that run 13.9 on street tires, but that leaves a lot unsaid.
