Hi i just found and bought a very solid white '71 N600 (2 days ago)
I'm working on it in to get it going, PO says it runs well and i believe him.
Been sitting a while in a garage though. It's pretty much rust free but hasn't been as well kept as we keep our cars.

I Haven't gotten it started yet. i had to fix the ignition switch last night by drilling out the tumbler etc, etc (very stuck due to wear)

I got it working well to find the starter just groans..so today in the snow i removed the starter, cleaned and servicing it.

Starter works now but is a bit slow and the pos cable get very hot so i suspect the ground cable needs replacing.

Really excited to drive it, my other fun car is a 300 bhp Porsche.

I really like the engineering of this Honda and also read that for '71 the compression was still high and lowered for '72 model year so i feel lucky to have found a '71. I haven't seen one of these cars in so long.

Anywho i just wanted to introduce myself as i will need advice and help as i'm new to these old Hondas. I will post some pic soon.

Hey Matt, welcome to the group! I'm jealous of your find, those are cool little cars. Can't wait to see some pictures, and if you found one that's rust free (or close to it) then you're starting at a pretty awesome place. Where are you located?
The forum here is kinda slow, but hopefully the resources here can still help you out as you bring your n600 back to life!

Thanks, it is basically as rust free as they come. Odd because Pennsylvania is very tough on old cars. I found one perforation a dime size under the carpet on the driver's side inner rocker sill where it probably got wet a lot (right below the A pillar)
The seller(s) two Brothers were kind of odd they tune Hondas for a living but once i took the valve cover off i noted the valve rockers were adjusted way loose on 3 and the 4th (left intake) was way tight. Hard old brittle vac lines, taped up this and that but the inside of the motor is super clean and compression feels really good (turning over by hand)
The battery cables are crap and why the starter that i refurbished was still cranking slow..so i ordered a real nice pair of copper cables from Summit Racing.
Anyway i set the valve rocker clearance, the point gap (which was way too big too) and replaced the vacuum lines and tidied up other stuff while i am waiting for my cables.
It doesn't look like i can post pics yet but my '71 600 is white with a black interior and the seats don't have any tears which is also odd.
The car was resprayed in a brighter white (not the best job) at some point prior to 2002 when the PO's Father in Law bought the car.
The Brothers bought it from him. He doesn't speak English well so i couldn't find out too much..

I am thinking about lowering it a little, and repainting a metallic dark maroon for some reason. (I paint) The white is so boring, i normally don't change color from factory but these cars are very plain and i feel could use a little "bling"
I am looking for wheel options and want to remove the bumpers for less weight and add some power and other performance enhancements.
I really like the custom headers i see on these..

Haven't started it yet but confident it will start, so the anticipation is building.
