85 VT250F
Hey there, I've just paid for my Ls test and I'm looking at getting my first bike.
I came across this VT250F. The only thing that doesn't match my readings are the (what seem to be) two discs on the front as opposed to an "inboard" disc (which actually seems like a positive thing to me.)
I've read that crankshaft problems are known (con rods, crank pins, engine bearings, camchain tensioner, cam bearing (shells))
I figure if there are any problems I'll replace the whole crank/cam or more likely just look for another bike.
The battery in it is too big also, does anyone know the right battery dimensions?
Are there any other known issues with the bike (or old UJM in general)?
I haven't called yet, and if they can't register it I'm not going to bother taking it through the pits. Not sure how many km's it's done either.
I know a bloke who started off as a motorcycle mechanic (moved onto greater things) who I'll probably drag along to look over the bike for me.
As I've said I'm not overly invested in this bike, but for what it's worth I think I may as well check it out.
Probably in need of some new tyres too, right?
Here are some pics: What do you think?
Thanks for reading, appreciate any replies.
