1990 HONDA CIVIC HB SI where to start
I have a stock 1990 honda civic and i was thinking of getting a bseries engine because i heard they are the better performance engine im wondering which one is easier to upgrade the internals and get a reliable strong boost im looking to spend a max of 15k and if it seems resonable get up to 400-500HP sorry about how general im being im pretty new to modding cars if there is anymore info needed just ask thanks for the responses.

I personally like the B16b CTR parts are easy to find. a 1200lb honda with over 300hp is pointless unless it's AWD. if your looking to go with that much hp do your research on here, they're tons of threads. See something you like and do a little from each to make it your own.

by the time you spend money and install a b -series swap worth having you just spent a performance D-series engine
vitara pistons p2p0 rods can be had for well under 500
a stock d-series head can flow your power goals very easily
if your swapping go big or go home
H or K
hardcore brutal honesty
if you truly have 15k to invest in the hot rod I would find someone with some hondaness and give them a grand or two to have them oversee every single aspect of your build or you may have a hard time at this

Lol.
You can build a turbo d set up for less than 15k. I've seen people turn up the boost on a D to reach 400 but 300-350 is more common. They are pretty quick around there too especially running less than 30psi. Just get a quality turbo and a quality setup. You will be satisfied.

I might suggest that you look for an engine comparison chart
then look for vehicles that may be wrecked for sale in your area
In the past 3 years within 100 miles of me i have seen 2 crxs totaled
that had intercoolers turbo B2.0 and a 1.6
computers and everything running
but the car was wasted.. they didn't ask a lot for them
Even a honda of a different type wouldn't mean that much more to buy if the swap
was already done and the car was wasted...
theres a lot of teenagers out there making really nice parts cars .. HA!
its sad yea but as long as no one is hurt..
but 4-500 doable but you know .. try to be a bit more realistic if you expect to drive it on the street.. 200-300 really pretty doable and not something extremely touchy that requires lots of your time and energy... and cash
