Will 03 Civic alarm sound off if I use key to open door?
My friend was visiting me in Portland and when she got home in Seattle from the train, she found out she left her key with car alarm remote in Portland at my house. She needs to drive to work tommorow and she has a spare key, but she insists that if she uses that key to unlock her car then her car alarm will sound off and there is no way to turn off her car alarm without the remote. Is that true?
I tell her she can use her key to unlock her car without the alarm sounding off because I think I did it before but then again I am not sure. She drives a Honda Civic 03 with an autopage car alarm remote.

The car should dis-arm if the key is used to open the door.

Sounds like it's an aftermarket alarm though. It should go off if you open the door with the key.

Opps over looked that last line, nope its not going to dis-arm, She iss going to have to find her valet switch to use that key
