Traditional or Liquid: Sound deadening material.
Hey,
I was wondering which one you guys would prefer. The traditional type [dynamat] or the liquid type. I'm looking for something I can use for lowering road noise [my 06 Civic sounds horrible when riding through road salt and gravel roads] but I may install some sound equipment later on, nothing too extreme though.
I have some dynamat extreme, but I was wondering if I should use a liquid instead.
I'm pretty much a sound n00b so any info would be helpful
thanks,
-eL

Actually a combination of both will work best, along with things like carpet underlay, "rubberized" undercoat, [spray can] and expanding foam.
As with most anything, the proper installation of the above will determine how well it works. 94

That's hard to say, I have never used just one, unless it was just a little job, for door speakers or something, it just wouldn't work very well for noise abatement.
But I guess if I had to pick it would have to be a spray product, as you can get to more places with it, and put it on as thick as you need to. 94

I actually spray Second Skin Spectrum first then rubberized undercoat over it.
