Default Tough one for the techs: Eclipse AVN6620 and steering wheel control interface

Car: 2006 Honda Pilot EXL
Unit: Eclipse AVN6620
Steering wheel interface module: Pac-ECL2

I installed an Eclipse AVN6620 double din into a Honda Pilot and my friend wanted it to interact with his steering wheel controls. He bought this module called Pac-ECL2 which was supposed to connect the steering wheel control wire to the unit. I followed the instructions it told me to but it didn't work..

Instructions: http://www.pac-audio.com/swixp...D=421

It said cut everything cept the white wire, 12v switch, and ground.. I connected the white wire which it told me to to the steering wheel control wire (green/red). I hooked red to switch access and black to ground. for the other side of the module i hooked it color for color (brown and white) to the steering wheel interface plug the unit came with. With all that done, it says to program it by turning the key to ACC and programming the version first. Did that, and it blinked 3 times indicating the version is programmed...BUT the light is supposed to stay on so you can start programing the buttons.. After it blinks telling the version the light shuts off immediatley. Any suggestions?
