running 3 ohms on a 4 ohm stable amp
ok my sub is a dual 6 ohm audiobahn 1000w RMS
my amp is a BOSS c550 800w (overrated power yes, cheap amp yes)
this amp is 2 ohm stable when in stereo mode, but in bridged mode its only stable at 4 ohms.
i ran it last night bridged on a 3 ohm load and it didnt go into protection, got a bit warm tho. i only set the gain a little below halfway because thats the point before i get distortion. i was wandering if you guys think it will be safe to run like this untill i get my 4 ohm infinity fixed (probably be a few weeks) i have a month warranty on the amp as well (28 days left)

Re: (JTTeG_X)
i tried it and felt the amp heatsink every 30 min or so and it got so hot i couldnt touch it.
but i fixed my other sub, my infinity had a wire come loose on the positive terminal, i found my dads soldering iron and got it running again.
4 ohm on a 4 ohm stable amp...and it sounds better than that audibahn too
