Remote hood opener
Couldn't a remote trunk opener be installed under the hood with gas lifters to make the hood open with the push of a button? Think I might try it.....any thoughts? Late

Because it would be
A.)Custom
B.)Original
C.)Easier than having to pull the handle, walk around to the front of the car, flip the latch, put up the prop pod, risk getting hands dirtier than necessary.
D.)Why not?

Well i guess if you're going for a show kind of look its not a bad idea but other than that i dont see the day to day functionality of it. i mean...how often do you pop your hood?

I am guessing a motor could pull the cable, but the hood still would not open. The safety prevents the hood from flying open while you are driving.

You'd need to use a trunk release solenoid to pull the cable. Hood cables are generally harder to pull than your trunk release, so you may need something stronger. You'd then need to hook up the output on the keyless entry module/alarm to a relay, that would in turn draw the high current needed to power the solenoid.

Yeah dude thats what I was thinking, getting a trunk release and hook the solenoid up under the hood....replacing the cable latch with the same lock set up as in the trunk, modifying the hood U if possible..... then install gas lifters somewhere near the back. Wonder where I could find a wiring diagram for something like that.....

You have to find out how much they are rated at. Some are rated at 500N - 20,000N. The really good ones are rated in Newtons and are expensive, but worth the money. I have one mounted on each trunk hinge and they are the 800N models and I can raiese them up and down driving 70mph down the highway and they will never fail.

Thats good for being on the trunk bro, but Im looking for something that'll hold up on the hood.....
I need something that'll handle ignorant speeds and still pop open at the push of a button.

Honda hoods are not much heavier than the trunks. The ignorant speed should be handled by the latch.
