I don't know about alarms, but I have seen people take razors and put them along the bottom of the hood and the doors/trunk. They'll slice thier fingers open....
Someone said something about you being liable for the thieve's health if they hurt themselves though..

here's one of the devices for chargeing the cars exterior and yes I have seen them in action http://www.amazing1.com/shocking_electric_modules.htm
"Requires caution as output can produce a very painful electric shock and is not intended for human contact!"
Tort law... A person who suffers legal damage may be able to use tort law to receive compensation from someone who is legally responsible, or liable, for those injuries. Generally speaking, tort law defines what constitutes a legal injury and establishes the circumstances under which one person may be held liable for another's injury. Tort law spans intentional and negligent acts.
As for Tasers being lethal or not is debatable, [more then a few have died from them] and how they get away with it is because it is being used by someone, not as a trap, there is a big diff. if you use a Taser to prevent someone from carjacking you and you installing one as a trap, you have a right of self defence.
Crooks have sued cops, [and won] for injuries sustained in their legal capture, what do you think would happen to you if a crook you injured with a Taser trap had a good lawyer?
You are making a grave mistake if you think it can't happen to you. 94

I agree that installing this is unwise. Also if you supply more then 9V to the stun gun you are overriding its built in protecions (which I believe modifying these devices is illegal also). By increasing the input voltage you not only increase the output voltage but you also INCREASE the output current. It does not take much current to stop a heart. I would think twice about your actions.
