for use in beating the **** out of someone, right?
cause as an anit-theft device it's useless.
as to the sword question, I have a friend who's a police officer in nyc. I'll ask him.

get a clifford black jax instead. let them take your car. then if they don't know the code, the sirens screams and eventually the car pulses down. use as another layer. your car will probably be around the corner. Unless they decide to call someone to tow it.
the billy bat is okay, but can easily be cut off. but once again, better than no security.
imagine that with the club too
You might want to check your local city's webpage to see if it is legal. I say it's not. Otherwise, we'd all be like Kill Bill with samurai swords on our sides
If your car is out on the street, you better have layers of security if you want to keep your car. No use in having a sword in the car while your car is stolen. proly better to have a tazer no
-aoib0t, who'd love to have a samurai sword and know how to use it, but proly useless against guns

you can carry any weapon in your car as long as no one in the car can easily obtain it..and the weapon is yours, and you can give a reasonable anwser of having it at the time.
for example:
you can carry a gun/s in your trunk. bullets need to be in a different compartment where the gun is. ofcoarse they will ask you what are you doing with this gun and as long as its registered and its your own gun your fine.( i just got back from a shooting range, i left the gun at my friends house and im on my way home, i am returning from the gunsmith, answers like this will help you in your explanation.
as far as the sword if you can put it in your trunk then you are safe. the only thing is you if you get stopped and they find out you have it have a reasonable answer as to having it in your car. remember they have to be able to proof your story is a lie so make it sound reasonable..
so in other words its legal to carry the sword in your car as long as you cant get to it without opening it from a locked location> trunk
