PLEASE HELP! How to bypass clutch interlock switch w/ remote starter??
Ok I know remote starters are not for manual cars... I had an alarm system w/ remote start installed on my car a while ago and it worked fine. Today I attempted replacing my old alarm system with the FM alarm system, and everything works fine, except the car won't start because of the clutch interlock switch (the little button that is depressed only when you step on ur clutch, as to prevents you from starting ur car w/o depressing clutch) kills the starter! I know there is a way to by pass because my old alarm system works!
Can somebody please help?

well, i would never do it, but if you really want to,
rip the button to the switch out, and permantly complete the circuit with some extra wire.

it is illegal but if u feel the need to do it as i did....please use a relay.
terminal 85 to starter ribbon wire in relay pack of remote start system, terminal 86 to ground. terminal 87 to one side of switch, terminal 30 of other side of clutch switch
should be all good.
let me know

Re: PLEASE HELP! How to bypass clutch interlock switch w/ remote starter?? (95CoupinIt)
Thanks 95Coupin, well today I again went attacking the problem, and here's why the old alarm can start the car and the new one can't... The old alarm has a 3rd ignition output, which puts out a constant ground to the relay while remote starter has been activated, and the the relay sends power to the starter. My new alarm doesn't have an output that sends out this ground pulse, so I just grounded the existing wire... Now remote starter works fine, but I'm no longer required to step down on the clutch to engage the interlock switch..
Let me try your wiring tomorrow and hope that'll solve everything...
