I would get Pioneer. I like Alpine's higher models more than Pioneer's. When it comes to the lower models, Pioneer is a better deal.

YOU WILL BE HAPPIER WITH THE PIONEER.I HAD AN ALPINE AND RETURNED IT IN 4 DAYS.IT IS VERY HARD TO NAVIGATE,SETTING ARE NOT CHANGEABLE WITH REMOTE,AND WAY TO EXPENSIVE FOR SUCH USER UNFREINDLINESS.

Re: New Head Unit: ALPINE vs PIONEER (Forgiveness)
YOU ARE A MORON.THE ONLY DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A PIONEER PREMIERE AND A REGULAR PIONEER HEAD UNIT IS THE WARRENTY.THEY ARE THE SAME EXACT UNIT.THE PREMIERE HAS A TWO YEAR WARRENTY AND THE REGULAR IS ONLY ONE YEAR.ALSO YOU CAN ONLY GET PREMIERE'S THROUGH SMALL SHOPS OR ONLINE.BIG CHAIN STORES CAN'T GET THEM.ALPINE IS A BETTER SOUNDING DECK I CAN GIVE EVERYONE THAT.BUT CONTROLLING THE SETTING AND NAVIGATING IT ARE WAY TO MUCH WORK.ESPECIALLY IF YOU LISTEN TO MORE THAN ONE OR TWO TYPES OF MUSIC

IMO...i think pioneers are better...i have a pioneer in mine now..and the features are great and easy to use. the new alpine i think is ugly. if you were to get an alpine, get the model b4 that one...the one that slides around (tilt)

I think the pioneer is better overall. No real audio option at all with that model alpine, but you will have die hard alpine fans from the 80's that will swear up and down that it's better then the pioneer just because of the name "ALPINE". Plus what alpine ower after spends $200+ on a headunit is gonna admit that their radio bang for the buck can't beat a pioneer in looks, sound quality, audio options, and pre volt output, and being more user friend.........NONE

Re: (H22CB7)
I have the Alpine unit and love it to death. I think it comes down to personal preference. I like the Pioneer for the crisp display, the many built in crossovers, the car screensaver, many more. Has anyone ever used the cel phone feature on the Pioneer headunit (mutes the radio when the phone rings)?

Re: (Nonstop)
Go with the Alpine. I have seen a number of Pioneer decks come back to me with problems (burnt ground tracks, induced noise etc). Mind you, just be cause I havn't seen a Alpine deck with these issues doesnt mean it wont/doesnt happen.

They had a problem with a motor supplier earlier in the year. The problem has been fixed, and all defective units can be replaced. I have a 9855 now and it is an amazing head unit.

Re: (EBPimpSi)
Just recently one of my co-workers had the same exact problem I guess it happens alot for those 2 models. I would pick pioneer for the money and features. But alpine HU that are not motorized face plates are also exceptional, not just there motorized counterparts .

Re:
Over the past three years i have had 3 cars and 7 HU's! I just love good clean sounding and loud audio. I have had 2 Pioneers, 3 Panasonics, 1 Eclipse and an Alpine! Alpine was the best over all, most options and Greatest sound. I have never had one sound so clear!!
Alpine all the way!!
