Dead Radio!
2001 Accord w/stock in dash 6 CD changer and tape deck. Wife charged battery without removing cables to battery. Then radio was dead. I pulled the radio fuse in and out and the radio asked for code and then worked fine. After turning off the car, the radio was dead again. Did this a few times but now radio doesn't come on at all. Checked all fuses on the interior left side and right side and also under the hood. Pulled head unit and re-seated all radio connectors. Not sure if she fried the radio but it did work after charging battery. Are there any other hidden fuses? How do i check if there is power going in to head unit? Trying to figure out if i need new radio or problem is in the car. Thx!
Manual states that charging battery without removing cables first can cause damage to audio system.

Re: Dead Radio!
to see if the radio is getting power you can use a multimeter and test the harness that plugs into the back of the radio. with the key turned to the accessories position there should be 2 wires showing almost 12 volts

Re: Dead Radio!
it sounds like the constant hot wire, if it doesn't work, every time you turn off the car the radio resets, do later accords like this have an overvoltage protector? I know a lot of newer cars have one and often a battery charger will fry them. this could cause a number of circuits to not function

Re: Dead Radio!
I checked the harness that plugs to radio and had 12v present on 3 wires. Both white wires with stripe on ends had 12v and 3rd wire in (blue) also had 12v. But blue at same location (3rd wire) on opposite side did not have voltage.
It appears that radio is fried. Does anyone know how i can get radio schematic to make sure? thx
