i need help how to disable flashing parking lights feature?
my car is a 1990 Honda CRX Si, and it has a Clifford Arrow II alarm system, which a shop installed back in 1999.
the alarm works fine except one problem that has to do with the feature that flashes the parking lights....... sometimes after arming or disarming, the parking lights get stuck so the lights are on, and you have to keep pressing the arm/disarm buttons on the transmitter several times until you get them to turn off.
i want to disconnect that feature(that flashes the parking lights), so it won't have that problem anymore.
can anyone give me steps or information how i can disconnect or disable this feature?
i found alarm installation guide on crutchfield website, and it said that during the install of an alarm, that they have to connect the alarm brain unit to the parking lights, and that they usually go by the vehicle wire color sheet, which would tell which wires to connect it to.
so i searched google, and i found a vehicle wire color chart for my car, which says the wires for the parking lights are RED/GREEN, and the location of the wires are the HARNESS AT FUSEBOX.
so would i just need to cut the wires going from the alarm brain unit to the parking lights? and is that good enough to disable so it won't flash the parking lights anymore when arming or disarming?,
any information would be appreciative
thanks

Find the brain and pull out the 15 amp fuse out of the white wire. Or depin the white wire from the parking light wire.

thanks for the reply,
i will look for the white wire like you mentioned, and i was'nt aware that theres fuses in the alarm brain units?
what did you mean exactly when you said "depin the white wire"?, what does "depin" mean? did you mean cut? or disconnect? i just wanted to make sure i understand right, thanks
i also made a post about same thing on the12volt.com, link to my post is here :
http://www.the12volt.com/installbay/...et~last#631551
a guy replied on there saying theres a brown wire coming from alarm brain which connects to the parking lights, and said for me to cut it.
how do you know the wire is white? are you familiar with the same model alarm as i have, Clifford Arrow II ?, or are you just saying white cause your going with what you are familiar with, from seeing other model alarm brains?
i just want to make sure i know positively which is the correct color wire that leads to the parking lights.
seeing a pic of the brain for my model alarm would be helpfull, like if it had description for each color wire, so i would know where each wire supposed to go to, and i would know for sure before cutting anything.
any help or more guidance would be appreciated

Brown would be the correct wire. I did not see it to be a arrow model. That unit is very old. Newer alarms the white wire would be your 12volt output for parking lights. Here is a diagram, click the link to open.

alright thanks, diagrams always help cause i like to see a visual of how it looks,
yeah i realise its old, but the car is also old, so the alarm is a good enough match for the car, cause all i really need is a sound to activate when car is moved or broken into, just enough to maybe scare the thief off or so they might skip on to the next car after seeing the blinking LED light.

Re: i need help how to disable flashing parking lights feature?
thanks for your help and just confirming things, like that the brown wire is the right one to clip, etc...
i did what you and the guy on the12volt.com said to do, keep in mind i am not experienced in alarms whatsoever, and i had to first find where the brain unit even was, and it was jammed deep under the dash behind the fusebox sort of, and i was able to pull it free and out to access it without it pulling any wires loose or anything, and i spotted the brown wire, and just to make sure i followed it and saw where it lead to, and it did lead to the red/green wires for the parking lights, so i clipped the brown wire.
it was late at night and i did'nt want to mess with my alarm and have it get stuck on or do the haywire stuff it usually does, so i drove to an empty carwash away from the neighbors so i could test it (arming and disarming etc...),
i was so happy and surprised when i armed it and noticed the lights did'nt flash, and that the alarm also armed and disarmed like it was supposed to without doing all that weird random stuff it did before, and the silent arm/disarm even works when pressing both buttons on the remote too which is good when its late.
so thanks again, and just following up to let you know it worked
