Default Need help re-wiring ALL 4 Stock speaker locations

Ok, so I recently bought a 93 Civic Coupe and for some reason the previous owner wired up all the stock speaker locations with the smallest guage wires and he did so with the cheapest quality wires ever.

I need to know how to rewire the whole thing. All 4 Speakers [Right and Left DOORS and Right and Left Rear deck]

Any help?

The rear should be pretty straight forward...and here is how I did the front on my '00 to give you a basic idea...I am pretty **** and you do not have to rip it apart as much.

Are you running wires to an amp or the head?

Wow. For now there is no amp involved. All I have is a different than stock head unit. I like how you did the doors but I dont see myself taking my fender off lol. Is there any other way?

Where did you connect the speaker wires too?

very clean job...Thats really involved...I just hid all my wires under the runners. When you lift the carpet it has a plastic piece that latches to the door. There is a hanging piece that i stick the wires through...

Since there are already new wires run into the door you should be able to snake the wires through if you start inside the door and work them into the cabin. On mine, I had to drill a hole in that connector on the door to pass the wire through...so if yours is the same it all depends on the size of the hole that was made.

As far as my wires, they hit the crossovers in the trunk and then to the amp.

I rewired my doors as well - fairly similar to what was done here, only I didn't remove the sheet metal.

i did the same type of install except i went the other route and just took my doors off. instead of drilling through the plastic plug, i drilled a small hole just above the plug and ran the wires through there. lining the doors back up honestly isn't as hard as everyone makes it out to be.

I was thinking of doing that, but I wanted it to look stock so I went through the original loom.

i actually went through the original loom as well -- i drilled my hole directly above the stock plug so that the wire was able to follow the loom all the way into the door. the hole was close enough that i was even able to pull the stock rubber boot that covers the plug over the new wiring.

Default Re:Doing the doors per Auto sound competition rules.

Georgelb and rcurley55: Thats how it should be done.
Now the avg shmo has an idea of whats really
involved with this stuff. Bravo

Now for the avg install 16 ga wire is more than adaquate.
14ga and 12ga boarders on "tweak" level or IASCA/SLAP
/USACi ruling. There is only one way to do it...well.

Those who want "short cuts"...oh well

Bravo gentleman.
