Half Mast Antenna ?'s
After a good two months of trying to find one I just got my JDM half mast power antenna, and OEM switch in the mail yesterday. I have a couple questions about wiring it up.
The antenna was originally out of a Prelude, and has 4 wires that need to be run to my car. The wires off the antenna are colored green/red - black - yellow/white - white/yellow. I know I need to cut the original harness in the car and splice the antenna wires into it, but I don't know where to run each wire specifically (the Integra harness is color coded differently.)
I was told a Prelude antenna would work fine in an Integra with a few modifications, and have seen it done.
Ok so the original antenna harness that I cut has three wires:
USDM Integra Harness:
US Wire 1: Red/White (Power's Antenna?)
US Wire 2: Green/Yellow (Sense Lead??????)
US Wire 3: Black (ground)
The JDM harness has four wires:
JDM Prelude Antenna Wiring:
JDM Wire 1: White/Yellow(Power)
JDM Wire 2: Yellow/White (Sense Lead)
JDM Wire 3: Green/Red (Goes to the switch)
JDM Wire 4: Black (Ground)
The switch harness has three wires:
Switch Wire 1: Yellow/White (Power)
Switch Wire 2: Green/Red (Goes to green/red wiring from the antenna)
Switch Wire 3: Black (ground)
I have the switch already powered and grounded. The green/red wire from the antenna has been run to the switch. So I have the two JDM antenna wires + ground coming from the antenna that I need to hook up, as well as the two USDM harness wires + ground.
If I touch both the JDM wires (yellow/white - white/yellow) to one USDM wire (green/yellow) while leaving the red/white USDM wire untouched, the antenna will move like an inch. It then stops, but the motor still makes a noise. If I keep removing the wires, then touching them again repeatedly to make a connection the antenna will slowly go up, or down.
Anyone have any suggestions?

Re: Half Mast Antenna ?'s (dc2teg06)
Should go as follows at the antenna
-White/yellow - battery +
-Yellow/white - antenna sense lead
-black - ground
-green/red - switch
the switch is similar, with the exception of no white/yellow battery lead. the only wire you need to run to the rear is for the green/red
Hope that helps

Re: Half Mast Antenna ?'s (JDM_Ej)
I'm not worried about reception. I just want the half function, to work. I spent a good two months just trying to source the antenna. Plus the OEM antenna sits way to high. It was either this or an S2k antenna. I found this, and opted to do it.

I'm thinking my problem lies in the antenna sense lead wiring that was in my car originally. I'll have to trace that, to see where my problems at. Because the antenna is getting power.
Would that be the Green/Yellow or the Red/White wire from the original Integra harness?

i have heard of this and what is a half mast ant really good for? i hear to reduce drag but i mean if your racing someone or something, just listen to a cd, then antenna will retract down anyways. i guess its just for the cool jdm'ness effect

Why not just use a meter or test-light to determine what wire does what?
And if you don't care about reception, why have an antenna at all?

I'll be using a meter tomorrow to determine what's going on. I haven't really had a chance to look at it.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but reception should be decent right? It's not going to be crystal clear, but decent enough. I didn't say I didn't care about reception, what I said was that I wasn't too worried about it, because it should be decent enough. I have an MP3 player that has an F/M transmitter the antenna receives the signal from my MP3 player, and plays the songs from it. My old antenna mast was broke, hence the need for the antenna. I found the JDM antenna for cheap and opted to do it. The reception should be decent enough to pick up the signal from the MP3 player. (Yeah I know what a cheap way to do it, but it WORKS.)
Right now I just want everything to function correctly, and I'm seeing if I can get some answers to lead me in the right direction. What's wrong with that? You guys make it seem like I shouldn't even post, because it's a "stupid" idea to you.
