get out of silent mode / reset car alarm?
http://www.avital.com/guides/o...s.pdf
thats the manual for the alarm, its a Avital Tornado 2 alarm. tried disconnecting the alarm for a few days, doing all the codes from the book, etc. theres isnt a reset button to poke at on the brain of the alarm. I got all the wiring done correctly.
i know i pressed something or a code to make it go into silent mode, the siren works fine. i know wheres the valet switch, and the alarm isnt in "valet mode"
i know this is not the best alarm out there, and its a cheap one, but im jobless now and need something to at least deter some thieves until i can find a job.
thanks for helping

How do you know the siren is good, does the siren sound in panic mode or full trigger mode?

From previous alarm installs, I still think your system is in valet mode. Is the LED light on all the time? If so, it is. Put your key into the ignition, turn to ON (don't crank it) and hold the valet button for about 5 seconds. The LED light should go off.

i tired all the commands and no luck. ill probably use a voltmeter to check the + and - wires going to the siren.
the siren works, i tested it by plugging it to the battery, and im definately not in valet mode, i went in and out of it millions of times to try and solve the problem

yea i checked that too. the alarms blinking LED blinks when i arm it, goes on solid when i put it in valet mode, etc. i just checked the positive wire and the negative trigger wire for the siren with a volt meter, the negative doesnt come on when the siren is supposed to come on, so its pretty much in silent mode or the alarm is broken.
i also took apart the brain of the alarm, nothing seems to be fried, and i cant find a damn reset button
so pretty much i have an alarm that arms and disarms, but with no sound when its being armed/disarmed/tampered with. all i have for security now is the LED light that blinks when i arm it, and a autolock
thanks for the help guys, now i took off the alarm, probably wait for a week so see if it resets itself from not having power, im just too broke to get a new unit thats at least half decent

If it does not reset within a min. it's probably not a "reset" problem, more like siren output is blown.
You can always ground the sirens neg.(-) lead and connect the alarms light flash output lead to the siren, kind of a on/off siren.
You will have to isolate the siren and park lights if you are going to use both, or siren will go off when you turn on the park lights. 94
