Been spending the night trying to figure this out. This is in a '90 CRX.


CEL, battery and oil light stay on when car is off and key is out. Pressing on the brake as shown in the video or turning on the headlights causes the lights to glow brighter and keeps the temp gauge pegged to the top. Started by checking my grounds but then realized the problem is most likely my jackson racing supercharger shorting out the alternator. I have the nippon denso type and am thinking that I should change it out for the mitsubishi type as it allows for the terminal to be moved out of the way. If anyone else has any suggestions to why this is happening or another solution rather than swapping the alternator im all ears. Thanks.

I checked out alternators at autozone and they are not terribly expensive. Anyone know if its worth while to go search the junkyards for a used one?

spent the day trying to track this problem down. Traced it to a ground wire not on properly. Have an extra alternator now but at least I was also able to gather up some other small parts that I needed while at the junk yard.

A loose ground wire will always give you more issues than blown fuse.
