The viper 1002 & viper 5002 are similar in funtions and the only difference is the viper 5002 has a pager. I want a pager for my car, so is it possible to unplug the viper 1002's brain in my car and plug in a viper 5002, or is the some extra installation I have to do?

The main harnesses look interchangable. You'll likely have to replace the antenna with the new 2-way unit, and maybe (not too likely) the antenna wire. You'll also have a lot of leftover parts if you just swap the brain, so may want to find something to do with those. (Two sirens? ;D)

Thanks for the reply. Both the units' harnesses do look interchangable, but I was just unsure and needed some input. I could use the extra parts for a whole new set up on another car, or I could sell it on craigslist as a set with the old 1002 brain and remotes.
