Default Bypass notification with 506T plugged in?

Hey guys, everything is working great as I said in my other post. At that time the only thing I hadn't hooked up and mounted was the 506T glass breakage sensor. I didn't think about having problems with it since its just as easy as plug and play.

Today I mounted it and tested it. It worked with a rap of my key to my drivers window. Only problem with it is when its plugged into my Viper 5002 I get the 2nd chirp of the sirens when arming notifing Bypass Notification. The 5002 has 2 extra inputs for sensors. If I plug it into the top one and arm. The LED blinks 4 times, if I plug it into the lower one the LED blinks 7 times.

If I unplug the 506T and arm it only chirps once and the LED blinks once per second as its suppose to. Any ideas. The manual seems kinda vague on this.

EDIT: The instructions for the 506T came with several different scenarios for hooking it up. They are:

-Adding a 506T to a DEI system that has an external shock sensor and reports separate zones on the shock sensor port
-Adding a 506T to a DEI system with a shock sensor port and an on-board shock sensor
-Adding a 506T to a security system without a shock sensor input or to a DEI system with an external shock sensor that does not report separate zones on the shock sensor port

I hooked it up per instructions givin for the RED above. Maybe I should have hooked it up for the 3rd option?

If you have a mini piezo siren in the car and you arm it and you have a glass sensor. The glass sensor will pick up the siren as a threat and send out a warning. This issue had me stumped for a day and a half. 3 glass sensors later it came to me why this was happening.

Ahhhhh...that makes sense. I have a siren inside the car. Its the DEI 516N(IIRC). So I guess going under programming and turning the Chirps OFF for Arm/Disarm would solve this problem?

Also, I read somewhere that the brain will ignore any input from that trigger for 30 seconds but then start listening to feedback from it again, is that right? So say I arm the alarm, the chirp of the siren affects the 506T as a threat so the alarm ignores its input for 30 seconds but then opens back up to it? Would the LED then blink once per second as its suppose to after that initial 30 seconds? I will try it out tomorrow and see.

If not, I will just turn off the chirps during Arm/Disarm. WRX, once again I appreciate your helpful input.

Yes, you are correct. You can test it by arming the car is silent mode. Try that first. Lets make sure your product is up to par.

Ok, I turned the Chirps off today for Arm/Disarming. And even though the sirens don't chirp when the alarm is armed it still aparantely goes into Bypass Notification. I have the 506T plugged into the bottom sensor input which seems to report Zone 7 as I get 7 blinks on the LED, then a pause, then 7 more blinks. However, I rapped my keys on the outside of my drivers window and it set off the alarm. So the 506T is working, it wasn't the shock sensor that was triggering the alarm as I have it turned WAY down, only 1 sensor bar showing on LCD screen. I am just going to live with it I guess. Sensor works..whats annoying is the LED..I want it to blink once per second like its suppose to damnit..lol.

I was for sure it would fix it though after you mentioned the siren, it made perfect sense to me. Plus IIRC the manual states that when silently arming and disarming the alarm won't go into bypass notification, but evidently it does.

Everything seems up to snub though:

-Backup battery works
-Tilt sensor triggers alarm
-Audio Sensor works although it trips bypass notification
-Doors lock/unlock
-Both sirens work
-Hoodpin
-etc.

Are you using the 506T Audio Sensor as well? And it won't bypass when not plugged in but will when plugged in?

wow this is crazy, my alarm is doing the same ****. I noticed that sometimes when I arm my alarm it chirps once and then the led blinks 4 times, if i unarm it and arm it a few times I will eventually get the two chirps and then the led light will blink 1 per sec. I have also had problems with my car starting at times.(almost like the main relay kill isnt unarming) I have all the same stuff and something appears to not be right

Yeah, werid.

I figured out yesterday that mine comes back out of bypass. I had my car at my parents and I went with my bro to help move a T.V. I had my car in my parents driveway with the alarm of course armed. We were gone probably a bit over an hour or so. When I got back I looked in to see the LED blinking once per second as its suppose to. I then disarmed and then re-armed the system and I got bypass notification. After something like a minute..it came out of bypass and was fine.

Damn man, good luck getting over it. Hopefully its just a cold..I know several people around here that have apparantly been really sick and doc said it was swine flu. I got the flu last year, I hope to get nothing but the aggravating cold this year, so far so good. Getter better quick.

As for mine, I'm not really worried about it anymore. Everytime I arm the alarm(Chirps on or off)it will go into bypass notification becasue of the 506T, after like 30 seconds it comes back out of bypass and is fine. The sensor works to so I'm not worried. I will be interested in the results of the test though. I will be tuned in for the breakdown.
