Alpine deck power cutting out sometimes?
I have an Alpine CDA-7894 deck. It is wired directly to the battery.
Most of the time , it works just fine. But sometimes i may stall my car, or turn it off for a moment to fill up the gas, and it wont come back on. Everything else works, but the deck will not turn on.
10 minutes later it will just turn itself back on and work like normal. THe problem almost never happens after its been sitting say like all night and i drive off in the morning. Deck will always turn on. But after its warm, and i turn it off for a moment and turn it back on, sometimes it wont come on for like 10-15 minutes.
Deck has been running fine for about 1-1/2 years. Is this a problem with the deck or something else? Any ideas?

Sounds like there's something wrong with your deck.
But I would check the power wires again. Or test another deck.

Check the ground and the other two contacts. Something might be loose or you radio has an internal problem.
Is it keeping the memory when it comes back?
Why you have the deck hooked up directly to the battery anyway?

Alpine recommends it being hooked up directly to the battery.
I used to have a speed harness that replaced the alpine harness and the civic harness connector that I got from Circuit City (That eliminated directly connecting it to the battery).
Since the lights were somewhat dimming when the bass hits, i decided to use the factory alpine harness and wire the power to the battery.
I believe the issues started happnening after that. I only listen to XM radio, and before with the speed harness, it would remember my last channel i was on. Now with this new setup, and the power problem sometimes, it resets to channel 1, but all the sound adjustments are saved.

Also, the power wire is good and the connection to the battery is solid. I solder all my wires.

Sounds like an internal problem, then.
That deck is out of factory warranty, did you purchase a extension to the warranty at the store?
You might need to service it!

No, leave it wired to the harness, but check the connection.
When the HU does not work, is it just that there is no sound,or is the HU off? [no lights]
