I've never put one on an OEM alarm-equipped car, but you may have to hook up factory disarm for start...
You can get all of your security wires (locks, door triggers etc) in back of the radio in the green plug, I think...

Factory alarm plug is green behind the radio or light green plug above the fuse box or bottom of drivers kick. According to Directechs the alarm can only be armed or disarmed with the factory remote. So as long as you dont uses your factory remote ever the factory alarm will never get armed and there for should not be an issue

i dont have a factory remote... i thought it was just the kind that arms when you lock the doors, like my 94 accord, no remote but there was a factory antitheft and blinking light.

Re: (7808)
on a side note- if you replace your oem radio, will your car not start? i heard this from a friend, like he had to actually hide the oem radio still pluged in in the customers dash so the car would start, or is there a way to by pass it?

Your friend is wrong. If you remove the factory radio from a 96-98 Civic with keyless entry, your keyless entry and dome light will not work, as the brain is contained within the factory radio. That is why you need to relocate the factory radio.
Has nothing to do with the car starting. Only keyless.
