Default 3 subs 2 amps: ohm wiring question

i have 3 icbm audio performance technique 12" subs with dual voice coils hooked to 1 amp currently but doesnt have enough to run them at dual 4 ohm. so i am adding an amp of the same making as the 1 i have now but want to maintain dual 4 ohm to all subs. My question is if i ran one side of each sub to 1 amp and the other side of the sub to the other amp, would that be dual 4 ohm or 2 or 8?? i know i should just hook it up the same way as now but figured i'd ask. thanks for your help

I don't know what you are trying to say. Please rephrase, and post up the make/model of your amps, and which subs you have.

Wire it series/parallel on each sub jump one wire from positive to negative then connect all the remaining positive and negative terminals together and hook it up to amp of course negative to negative and positive to positive on the amp yo should get about 2.5 to 3 ohm on that. Also check to see if your amp is stable to handle that load. Have fun.

dude your way way out there, thats a monster horrible idea! look here's gonna be your best bet, sell that amp and get a 2ohm stable class d, because your running three subs, that way you can wire each sub (dual 4ohm) in series, creating 3 8ohm loads, then wire the three subs in parrallel for a 2.66 ohm load, it will not allow a 2ohm mono block to supply its full potential but its definately safe, that 3 subs on 2 amps bull crap is dumb, big time.. just forget that idea.. the only time you will ever wire 2 amps on a single ohm load is if you have big amps, 1000+ watt class d's that are linkable or able to daisy chain.. and thats for guys wanting to put say 2 2000w amps on a single sub or load.. and what do you mean keep the subs at dual 4ohm? they ARE dual 4ohm and cannot be changed..
