Hi guys,

I used AUX input during our last trip and it seemed to work just fine (as usually). The next day I noticed that we are not getting any sound coming from the speakers. The head unit still has power and I can change the source input, radio channels, CD, AUX ... but there is no sound.

Also there is no error showing.

Tried to check fuses but everything seems to be fine (unless I am missing something). I also tried to remove one of the rear speakers and installed a new one ... but that didn't help ... still no sound.

I disconnected the battery and also removed the stereo head unit to see the model# ... when I had put the unit back it appears that all my preset radio stations are still there.

Any help? Should I be looking to buy another stereo on eBay or is there another solution?

Just an update ... I disconnected the battery and radio for more then 3 hours today ... and after I put radio back ... it worked for about 30 seconds and then it went back to silence??? Has anyone experienced the same problem or has an idea what is wrong?

Sounds to me like you have a short in your wiring somewhere. Often times a short will cause your stereo to go into "protect" mode and cut power to all channels. To check for this, you could use a multimeter and test at the stereo wiring harness. Check the pairs or wires going to the 4 speakers for resistance. They should all be at least 2 ohms.

Thank you!!! All I did was to remove rear speakers checked the radio and the sound is back. I connected back the same rear speakers and no problem .. all is working again. This all is very weird but my issue seems to be solved (at least for now).
