02 accord se hood switch
Ok
Just bought a 2002 Honda Accord SE. Already replaced drivers multiplex unit because someone shorted it out by installing a aftermarket stereo. The factory stereo is back in it now. My question pertains to the factory alarm/keyless entry unit. The keyless entry works fine. But ,the factory alarm will not arm. I was told the hood switch needed ten volts to set. When I checked the switch it has 0 volts(hood open) but if i unplug the switch it has 10 volts. is this normal,or not. and what type of switch is it? and if that is not the problem what could be.Maybe stereo wiring? Just a note ,If i was to remove the switch(hood) or unplug it what would i need to do to replace the switch, would any switch work ?

Re: 02 accord se hood switch (fcm)
OK
So if I unplug the switch it should allow the alarm to set? Also What else can cause the alarm to not arm.(oem alarm) Does the passengers multiplex control any of that?
