I will increase the output of the tweeter by 3dB...

• Tweeter level adjustment - The 6022i also features a tweeter level adjustment located on the front of the speaker and can be set at the reference level of 0dB. If the speakers are located low in the doors or if you are looking for a brighter sound, set the tweeter at +3dB. The same goes for the 6022si. 94

thanks i pushed the button in to the +3 db setting, i need all the fine tweeter sound i can get because i just have two of these and the rest of my car is gutted, all in all it sounds good with a decent amount of bass.... the worker at best buy showed me how these infinitys outperform other brands by a huge margin.... all in all i am satisfied with my 120$ spent on these, anyways thanks.

o yeah and what does "db" stand for exactly? or is it just a frequency?

^^ DB stands for decibels... A unit of sound level measurement.

actually it is a unitless measurement, it's a ratio. However most acoustic and electronics use this unit for measurements ie dBA, dBV, dBW, SPL, etc.

correct, it will increase the apparent sound of the tweeter output

3db is considered to be the smallest amount of change in volume that is detectable.

I always leave it at 0 and depend on the crossover adjustments primarily and then fall back on the equalizer. Infinity's are already bright as it is.

yeah, i was thinking of leaving them in the 0 db position and using my alpine head unit to fine tune it from there... i can access the tiny button through the vents in the speaker vents in the door panel with a feeler guage or something similar.
