After seemingly an eternity, the Civic Type R is finally coming to the U.S.

We have known for a long time that it was happening. For reasons unknown, Honda has been playing coy. Now there is no going back on it: The Civic Type R will be arriving in the U.S. in a few months.

To celebrate the occasion, Honda dropped this dark and moody unveiling film. Flashing lights, smoke and mirrors until we see the final product. However, the sights aren’t what we focused on in the video. No, it’s the sounds. Those watching intently get to hear what the production-ready Civic Type R sounds like, and it sounds good.

Yes, yes, very good. We are glad Honda decided to give the Type R some decibels to match it’s grunt. It’s all too easy for the OEMs to have over-muffle these modern turbocharged cars. Naturally, the aftermarket will come to the rescue for this halo Honda, but it’s nice to know that even in stock form, the CTR sounds as good as it does.
