Default wle05's salvaged TSX rebuild thread

Okay so Imma start a build thread now Ive had a few requests for a build thread and well Ive got nothing else to do at the moment. The TSX is a 05 but I am converting to 06 front and rear ends. On to the pix. Theres gonna be alot of pix.

so after a 6 hour drive i finally have the TSX in my possesion.

started the tear down

06 bumper FTW

Donor car

Car on the frame rack and original rear clip cut off

donor clip resting on the frame rack waiting for its new home

here is a pic of the floor all spot welds were drilled out this is how we have always sectioned a car when installing a rear clip

here's the hood, fender and upper rad support in the booth after some paint

So heres the rear clip almost ready to weld just fine tuning and aligning everything

Starting to weld

Thats it for today the rear clip should be all welded up tomorrow. Then starting on the front end shortly after.

jw...Is this insurance work? why not work on the frontend on the white one instead of cutting up the whole car?

the white one was an automatic, my cousin wanted a 6spd like mine, thats why he is rebuilding the gray one. trust me, you will never ever be able to rebuild a tsx as little as he spent so far. i sold my stock 96 midori ek hatch a month ago for more then his 05 6spd tsx..

Well the white TSX was auto and it would need both frame rails replaced from the firewall forward. I found the 6spd before the white TSX. Thats true cousin your midori ek sold for more than this car was bought I wouldnt have bought a used/new already done cause this is usually how i get the cars that i drive. trust me alot cheaper. i guess finding cars like this is just a perk in having a family owned salvage yard/body shop. Cant wait til its of the frame rack so i can start doing body and paint
