Because I like the show. If you gotta problem, why should I care? You either like it or you don't, but no need to be a dick about it.

Technical aspects?? It's a cartoon about ponies designed for lil girls. Technical aspects?? L-O-L You cannot be serious. Either you have a severe mental disorder, you're a creepy pedophile, have the IQ of a potato or a combination of all of the above. Yes I have a problem with this, 100%. For the record, I am 100% for gay rights and etc but this not relevant and wayyyyy different.

You know, you're making a fool of yourself.

First off, do not generalize. Second, do not make assumptions. You don't even know me. Why don't I shed some light on the subject?

I'm a relatively normal, 20 year old straight guy, who ******* loves cars, has an affinity for Hondas, likes longboarding, video games, and art, excelled in every math class, working towards a degree in Automotive Technology, and I happen to like a show that has been cited by THE CREATOR of it as being a cartoon that the whole family can enjoy.

If you come up over into my thread, and dont like what you see, ****, thats nice. Think what you want. The moment you negatively comment on something that isn't yours to create, you have done diddly fucked up. Yea, I can't do **** about it except rant, and try to defend myself, but I been doing that for a while now. No need to spread hate in someone else's build thread.

Tl;dr, if you don't like it, i couldn't give a single **** less.

Update! Been a while, at least to me. I'm actually in the middle of doing stuff, so enough veggies, let's get to the meat of the post!

I cut a bit of my inner fender on the rear, to make it a bit easier to roll. I'm getting it done by a guy with a roller and a heat gun, for $50. Hope it goes well lol

Then I got a buncha new stickers. I only feel like posting this one though lol

#youknowyoureahondaguywhen

Babe's going under for surgery.

Old axles and LCA out:

All the left side out. I stripped the upper ball joint castle nut, so I figured since I'm replacing it anyway, I'd simply take out the UCA with the knuckle:

Right side:

These butts come out,

And those butts go in.

Went to AutoZone for warranty axles:

I've had my Energy Suspension LCA bushings sitting in a box for a while now. I put in one LCA bushing at school, and I hated doing it because it took a really long time. (I had never done LCA bushings before.) But, I figured while I'm down here, and everything's out anyway, that I'd take care of them. I went and bought a torch and hammer. Then I went to my work (I had the day off yesterday) to get help with them. This was being used for 4 or so months:

Old burned out:

New ones in:

The other side already had the lower shock bushing, I just cleaned it up a bit.

I cleaned up the left coilover, because it was dirty, and I'll do the right side today.

Old gross rubber brake line out,

Nice new stainless line in.

Also wondering, is there a better way to secure that? I already put on the bracket that goes on the knuckle. There's another triangle shaped bracket on the line, and I dunno where it would go.

Left side all assembled!

And these get all sorted and installed as soon as I finish this post:

That's all for the brake swap, at least until I finish the other side. The left side always was harder on me. The right will be a breeze.

I also found out that I left a connector undone on my driver's seat. So my heated seat bottom works! I can't ever really feel the back, so that'll get replaced eventually, along with the seats.

That's all. Ima get back to it. See ya guise.

Small update. I wanna finish my Ramen before it gets cold.

I got the other side on, had a friend help me bleed them, and took a pic with the wheel on.

After that, I had very visible toe-in on both sides. I went to drop it off at work to get it aligned. I had a nice discount, but cot dam they took two days to do a 30 minute job because they kept pushing mine back. I was riding at the bottom of the shock travel, so I had to raise it back up anyway. I had also noticed one of my tires was mounted going the wrong direction, so I went up to my work before open, when the manager was there, and turned it around.

Once I raised the car back up to a decent height, there were still no tickets on the board. I asked to have it aligned, and they said they'd get to it. Two hours later, no alignment and still a long wait. I was fed up and left to go to my old work, where it got done in less than an hour, for $80.

I also finally installed these while I had the car up in the air:

My coworker also cut out some of the metal next to the shock tower for camber adjustment access.

I put the bumper back on it, and she's doin great. except for one thing. There's a bit of a clicking noise from the left rear end as I drive down the road. I think it's the fact that the camber links have spherical bearings instead of bushings. I'll figure it out.

That's all for now. Ramen time!

sparks flying near glass without protection is also a no-no. its an invitation of thousands of pitmarks/metal embedded into the glass.

And those those little pitmarks start to get bigger and deeper and a few deep potholes later this will results with your car not having a windshield anymore....aka I learned that lesson the hard way

Did you leave your brake line that way? Also the bolt for your sway bar to lca should be the other way around, the head should be on the underside. Is that bolt OEM or something that was just laying around?

For real? I didn't know that. I'm actually curious as to why.

The more I think about it, and looking in hindsight, that makes sense. I'll take it into consideration if I do any metal cutting near the windshield again. I kind of need to trim a bit more off. But at the same time, I've been wanting to replace this windshield anyway. I has a spidercrack (the kind that's just a dot, a quarter inch wide), and it's where I can't see it, but it's there.

Also when it rains, the first wipe of the glass is always extremely streaky and blurry, no matter how new the wipers are, or how clean the glass is. I think it might be from all the smallest bits of dust making microscopic pit marks over the 16 years of this car's life. (I could be wrong. I usually get the blades that are just above the lowest grade at Autozone.)

I would like to replace the windshield, but it's not a huge priority right now.

I did leave the brake lines that way. I wasn't really sure how they should be, but I'm open to suggestions on securing it properly. This weekend I'm driving up 5 hours to Denton to meet my week old baby cousin for the first time, and I don't wanna be stuck on the side of the road with a broken brake line.

It was the bolt that came with the bushings. That time I went over roadkill, I don't remember if I posted it, but there was a bit of blood and fur on the bolt threads. That was nice to look at lol

I'll go turn it around in a bit.

That's real good info to know, thank you both. I went ahead and got some a while ago, but I've been told to spray VHT clearcoat on them to protect the color. I'm doing that this weekend.

Update! I went to Dallas to meet my new baby cousin, and I dunno if I did something really weird with my math, or not filled up all the way, but I managed to get 65 miles to the gallon. I have no idea how.

173.4/2.65=65.434

Weird.

Anyway, before I left to go to Dallas, my car was making really funny noises, but it was only very noticeable under load. I took it to a mechanic I know and trust, and he told me the exhaust manifold to CC bolts were loose. He showed me where, and I went ahead and tightened them down in the parking lot. All better!

Then I went and picked up 8 new lug studs for the rear disc trailing arms I'm swapping in later.

All in! I also wire brushed the hub faces on both. (Air tools to the rescue)

I then ordered some new aluminum lug nuts. (Thanks go to Spec R and Brice Hayden for pointing that topic out.) The green ones are Sickspeed because I couldn't find an NRG set of 4 in green.

I was told I should spray some VHT clearcoat on them to protect the color, so I'll put them on after I do that this weekend.

I also saw this thing in the trunk of a 2011 Accord at work one day, and I looked at it thinking I could retrofit it into my Civic. The reason I wanted it is for convenience, but also because I don't like having to reach between my sub box and the rear deck to try and find the rod to release the back seats. The cables provide an easy solution to that.

So, I ordered the part. Only cost $35 for two, not bad for dealer price. If it doesn't end up fitting right, it was still worth a try lol

Also ordered some 2P female connectors, now I just need to either get a part number for the male connectors or go scrounge some up at the yard.

I replaced my brake booster and master cylinder with USDM ITR units. Or, well I had them replaced. I got the work done at my work because I've never bench bled anything, and I didn't want to **** it up and not have a car for a while. But before I could do any of that, my lug nut seized, so I got two new ones up front.

The MC had rear leakage and was contaminating the BB.

Old:

New!

The brakes feel SO much better! I really like the pedal modulation, it was really easy for me to get used to. Although, I locked up the brakes a few hours ago pretty bad (not enough for flat spots), so I'll need more practice.

Yea, that's all for now. I'm writing a fan fiction, because I got inspiration from a very bad day at work. It's almost done, I hope the people it's aimed at will enjoy it.

Until next time, senpai~

I've been here forever but almost never post anything.

But I have to in this case.

You have a GAY AVATAR! That is a GAY MAN! You are apparently the fan of a GAY MAN!

So, please explain your hostility toward a man that digs cartoon ponies. Is there something about cartoons that bothers you? Ponies? It certainly can't be any perceived "gayness" as you are clearly a fan of gay things. I suppose you could say that making Jim Parsons your avatar was meant to be ironic is some fashion. If that were the case then I'm sure you could perceive this guy's Little Pony deco as ironic in the same way. When you say "I'm out", are you saying you are not coming back to this thread? Or that you are out of the closet? Because if you aren't, you should be. You'll feel better and perhaps you'll stop being such an **** retentive critic of anyone's car that doesn't fit your formula for a "proper build".

Thanks for standing up for me! And for making me laugh, that was nice too

Guys like streetlethal is also the reason I don't talk about pone much outside of my own thread.

Finally, an update! Christ, it's been forever. There's been a lot of shitty rain the last few weeks here in Texas, so not much can get done in the two hours of sun a day that we've been getting. Anyway, updates over yonder.

Firstly, I finally started filling in some dents on the right side. I'm only going to fill in one panel at a time, because there's a lot more dents on this side. Most are small, so there are some I won't do, but big ones will be filled. Just like my women.

Also got my stainless steel clutch line for the manual swap:

Then one of my fog light bulbs went out, so I got a bigger bulb. 100W as opposed to the 60W it came with. I figured while I had it apart, why not upgrade? But when I went to disassemble the housing, I found that the synthetic fabric (not sure what kind) shield where the positive connector was, was burnt and ashy.

I put on a new female spade connector, and put in the new bulb, reassembled everything, and it was fixed! Then I noticed one bulb was brighter than the other. So, a couple days later, I changed the other side, and they were even again. They looked really nice being that bright!

But I figured this next part would happen. Since the bulb demanded more wattage, they blew the fuse after a few days. I put in a new 15A fuse to see how fast they burned out, and it only took a second. I'm thinking there may be a short to ground somewhere, but I want to put new wire all throughout the fog harness anyway. I'm borrowing a co-worker's DMM, so I'll get it figured out.

I ordered a NRG steering wheel, because I liked the size, material, and color. Here it is mocked up against the stock wheel:

It won't be installed until I have everything for it. That will all be ordered next check (tomorrow). This will include the quick release, hub adapter, resistor for the SRS light, and Red "[H]" emblem horn button. Because the NRG button is too normal, and I prefer OEM badges in my car.

Next up is this thread. Basically I found a heated power mirror switch on a Pilot at work, and it looked like it fit in my Civic. It does fit physically, but I got the switch for a 97-99 3.0CL. It shares this switch with mostly Canadian Preludes, Integras, Pilots, and some others I don't remember. It has a different connector than the Civic. So I figure I could get the 4th gen Prelude's power mirror sub-harness, and just wire that in place of the Civic one.

I really gotta not make impulse buys... woulda solved the whole issue. Oh well!

I have some of the Prelude sub-harness, but the Lude at the yard didn't have anything past the right side of the fusebox. I'll find a way yet!

While I was at the yard, I got like... six? 2P connectors, one for the heated seat connectors (at the time I didn't have a male plug that I needed) and for later projects, as well as a **** ton of BLU/RED wire, so that I can follow deschlong's write-up for heated mirrors. #shamelessplug

And finally, I did this, and wrote my first write-up ever. I'm so proud of myself.

Pic of that:

And that's all for now. I'm really tired, and I need to eat still. Hopefully I don't wait so long to update.

I'm gunna go eat, and then take the trash out. Good night everybody.
