If I were you, I'd try to swap out that LS trans with a GSR, you'll notice a LOT more acceleration and it's still pretty decent on the highway. B16 trans will be painful on the highway. You could always go with an LS 5th in a GSR as well.

Only reason why I mention it is because you'll have to have the trans off and apart for the ISB anyway, might be a good time to upgrade. Either way, good luck with it!

it has a SOHC and that is the trans that needs the ISB.

B20Z/LS is good enough for this car. I wouldnt be swapping it if not for the fact that I need trans, also I dont want to pay more than $100 for a SOHC trans, and it's almost a guarantee that it ends up also needing an ISB, grind, or being a DX trans if you buy it cheap from a local. Or all 3.

Just gotta get the suspension from the guy I got the seats from.

Now all cars I have are 2.0 liters. LOL.

Engine swap done. Pics tomorrow. Also a full exhaust has been put on.

Also turns out the guy that I'm getting the suspension from needs a Y8 distributor, and will be trading straight over for the dist. Just have to throw it(suspension) on, and one could consider this a "complete" build. Not a 'full build' but complete. Did all the appearance stuff I wanted, interior, swap, and wheels, and suspension.

Car needs brakes, so I'm doing that at the time the suspension goes on. Also going to paint those nasty rear drums black. Been trying to get Si wheels in trades, but EVERYONE around here have **** tires.

I have the suspension, the condition is questionable. Tockico springs on rear whites, and up front looks CG sleeves on the same springs.

Traded for D16 dizzy. Parts are filthy, but the thing I noticed is that one sleeve appears to be worn down where some threads are. How does this happen?

I'll be throwing those on, and I have figured out what to do with wheels. Strip mine. I have some aircraft stripper going to sand them to a shine, clear them and thats it.

The other thing is a 03-05 Cluster. Going to try to find an LX manual. Since I know the coolant temp thing has been solved. Going for LX because colors are better.

Then it must be a coupe or sedan thing. In further looking all coupes are red even if lower than an EX.

Well anyway got a coupe EX one today. Went to the yard looked at 7th gen Civic's. Between being automatics, some 01-02's ect, clusters were out on ALL of them. So the last one, I walk from the front to look in, and see it's a stick. Look at the dash GONE! Of course. Look to passenger seat, move some interior parts strewn about...and it's sitting on the seat. Clean and clear.

Luck. Had I not found it today, this mod would have been off the list.

Looks nice. Do you have a link for the lip? Been looking for the oe style one now only see on ebay in kits.

Also did you wire up the cluster? Did you have to use ect like a s2000 swap?

I've heard there are difficulties in doing that cluster swap, I don't recall exactly what they were...I want to say it has to do with the vehicle speed sensor or something like that. I'm curious to see how it works out. If you do complete the swap, maybe consider doing a DIY post.

Its the coolant temp thats the issue. Someone figured it out already. I'll be doing this tomorrow or wednesday.

And I have hit a road block. The wheels. I wanted to redo them, but some aircraft stripper would do nothing to the finish. So, knowing that daylight/temp is short I resorted to painting the wheels. I did not have time to mask the tires off, so that bothers me, and also I could only do one side of the car. Also because of the tough finish, there is a texture to the wheels now. I'm just going to toss the wheels.

They do look good, and they have the illusion of being bigger, but I still have to spend tomorrow doing this and having the tires flipped. Just too much stuff for my patience level anymore. I'll just throw the steels back and buy some 16's.

Have you tried a wire wheel to remove the finish on the wheels

I really didnt have time. God damn winter. I've had an easy time removing pretty much every other wheels finish without a hiccup. These would have taken extra long.

Amyway. I think I saved them decently enough. Wish I hadnt even started to remove the finish. Other side have a little bit of texture. But you cant see it in pics unless I'm right on it. Still took all of daylight. Also painted brakes, caliper and drums were rust colored, just black now.

I'll play with the cluster tomorrow maybe. Maybe.

I'd bet the Miata is wearing a coat of this white dip, and the wheels probably the same olive green the hubcaps and grille that came on this car was.
OH MY GOD LOOKED UP THE KID, I WAS EXACTLY RIGHT! THIS PIC CAME FROM MARCH.....
